Oppo R5 Review

Oppo R5 is a great device, packing a comfortable 5.2" capacitive touch-screen, an extremely fast Octa-Core processing unit (actually, there is a Quad-Core speeding at 1.7 gigahertz and a Quad-Core speeding at 1000 MHz), and two cameras, a 13 mega-pixels back-facing camera and a 5 MP front camera.

This cellphone has a wonderful design, with a thickness of just 0.19 inches. The Oppo R5 is a very compact phone, taking into consideration it packs a 5.2 inches screen and it is just 5.86" long. Oppo has made an excellent job making the Oppo R5 as lightweight as 5.47 ounces. Oppo offers this cellphone in 2 color options: gray and gold.

Oppo decided to power this cellphone with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 8939 system chip, backed up by a high performance Octa-Core processing unit (although they are really a Quad-Core ticking at 1.7 gigahertz and a Quad-Core clocking at 1 gigahertz) and a huge 2 GB RAM. To handle graphic calculations, the Oppo R5 also uses an Adreno 405 graphic processing unit ticking at 500 MHz. A nice feature of this phone is its 16 GB quite big internal storage memory and though it doesn't include an SD extension slot, it should be enough to store hundreds of applications, but it might not be suitable if you are fan of the heaviest games currently available or taking tons of photos and videos.

The Oppo R5 is equipped with two cameras, a 13 mega-pixels back facing camera and a 5 mega-pixels front side camera. It can also film videos up to 3840x2160 (4K) at 30 fps, and slow-motion videos in 1280x720 (HD) at 120 frames per second (4 times slower than normal videos). The camera also has multiple great characteristics like auto-focus, flash, face detection shooting, HDR mode, smile detection shooting and geo tagging.

Oppo designed this phone with an astonishing 5.2-inches display, and a resolution of 1920 x 1080 (Full HD), which makes all images and videos look beautiful and brightful. Its display uses AMOLED capacitive technology, and allows multi-touch gestures.

The Oppo R5 features WiFi connection (and it can share it with other devices around, as a mobile hotspot), LTE 4G fast connectivity and 3G fast connectivity, over HSPA, HSUPA and EDGE technologies. This phone uses a Micro SIM card for GSM services.

This phone also comes with a handful of interesting features as Bluetooth (provides communication with other bluetooth devices and accessories) and GPS Navigation, and lots of sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.

The Oppo R5 comes with a 2000 mAh medium sized Li-Polymer replaceable battery providing this phone with a quite short battery life.

This phone may be a bit overpriced considering it is sold for 155 dollars, while some similar phones are offerred cheaper than that. This phone is the correct choice for you no matter if you you love taking photographs, want a device to mainly use social networks or will use it as a gaming device.
