Xiaomi Hongmi Review

Xiaomi Hongmi is a pretty good phone, packing a medium 4.7-inches multi touch capacitive screen, an extremely powerful 1500 MHz Quad-Core processor, and two cameras, an 8 megapixels back facing camera and a 1.3 megapixels front facing camera. Is that all? No, it's just the tip of the iceberg.

Xiaomi decided to equip this cellphone using a high speed 1500 MHz Quad-Core processing unit, packed into a MediaTek MT6589T system chip and only 1 GB RAM memory which is a little low for a cellphone of this quality. To collaborate with graphic calculations, this cellphone also uses a 384 MHz PowerVR SGX544 GPU.

Xiaomi is offering this phone in many different colors: black, yellow, green, blue, red and gray. Xiaomi appears to have forgotten about weight optimization in this 5.57 ounces phone. This phone is extremely slim and stilized, being just 0.39 inches thick. The Xiaomi Hongmi is only 5.39 inches long and 2.72" wide, but it still manages to hold a 4.7" display.

This cellphone is equipped with two cameras, an 8 MP back-facing camera and a 1.3 mega-pixels front camera. It also shoots Full HD 1920x1080 videos at 30 fps. This phone also includes many valuable features like auto-focus, flash, face detection shooting, HDR mode, smile detection shooting and geo tagging.

Xiaomi equipped this cellphone with an amazing 4.7 inches screen, and a resolution of 1280 x 720 (HD), which makes it impossible to even distinguish the pixels taking part of the screen. This screen uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, and is multi-touch enabled.

This phone comes with a mid capacity 2000 mAh Li-Polymer replaceable battery providing this cellphone with a below average battery life.

The Xiaomi Hongmi offers WiFi connection (which it can share with other devices around, as a mobile hotspot) and 3G fast connection type, supported by HSPA and EDGE technologies. This phone uses two SIM cards so it can to work with 2 different phone numbers and even different carriers in the same cellphone.

The Xiaomi Hongmi also features a couple of nice features such as Bluetooth (for communication with other bluetooth phones and accessories) and GPS (Global Positioning System), and multiple sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.

This cellphone costs around 155 dollars, very expensive for this type of device. No matter if you want it mainly for social networks and internet browsing or need a phone for playing games, you will probably be very satisfied with this device.
