ZTE ZMAX Review

ZTE ZMAX is a pretty good Android cellphone released in September 2014, which features an extremely powerful 1200 MHz Quad-Core processing unit, a 5.7" multi-touch capacitive display, and 2 cameras, an 8 megapixels back side camera and a 1.6 mega-pixels front-facing camera.

The ZTE ZMAX is much lighter than what you would expect from a device this size. Being just 0.35 inches thick,the ZTE ZMAX is thin and practical. Whereas this phone only has 6.4 inches long and 3.3 inches wide, it still manages to contain a 5.7 inches display. This cellphone is only available in black color.

ZTE equipped this cellphone with a good looking 5.7" screen, and a resolution of 1280 x 720 (HD), which makes it hard to see the pixels composing the screen. Its screen uses TFT capacitive technology, and has multi-touch detection.

ZTE decided to build this cellphone with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 8926 system chip, including a high performance 1.2 gigahertz Quad-Core processor with a great 2 GB of RAM. Graphic intensive apps often uses lots of CPU time, so it also has an Adreno 305 graphic processing unit working at 450 megahertz to help handle those graphic tasks. A good advantage of the ZTE ZMAX is the 16 GB quite big internal storage and a slot for an external memory card, allowing the user to install a couple hundred applications without any problem.

The ZTE ZMAX features wifi capability (and it can share it with other devices acting as a wireless router), 4G (LTE) fast data connection and 3G internet connection, using UMTS and EDGE technologies. This cellphone works with a SIM card for GSM networks.

This device is equipped with two cameras, an 8 megapixels back camera and a 1.6 mega-pixels front facing camera. It also captures videos in Full HD 1920x1080. The camera also features a couple of nice characteristics: flash, auto-focus, HDR mode, smile detection shooting and geo tagging.

This device also includes a few nice characteristics such as Bluetooth (enables communication with other bluetooth devices, computers, and accessories) and GPS Navigation, and lots of sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.

This cellphone packs a 3400 mAh high capacity Li-Ion non-removable battery providing this cellphone a marvelous battery duration. According to ZTE, this cellphone has an aproximate 14 hours talk time and a 360 hours stand by time. An issue to take into consideration is that this cellphone's battery is not removable so you can't buy a new battery when it begins to lose its charge, though with this big battery you will probably buy a new phone before it happens.

ZTE is offering the ZTE ZMAX for $ 170, which is a high price for this type of phone. This device is probably the right one for you no matter whether you will use this cellphone for work, need a cellphone to mainly use social networks and internet browsing or want this device to play lots of games.
