Google Pixel XL is just a bit better than the Google Nexus 5, with a general score of 81.3 against 76. The Google Pixel XL design has the same thickness than Google Nexus 5, but it's incredibly heavier. Google Nexus 5 counts with a little faster processing unit than Google Pixel XL, because although it has less RAM memory, and they both have the same number of cores, the Google Nexus 5 also counts with an additional graphics processor.

Google Nexus 5 has a bit more vivid display than Google Pixel XL, although it has a little bit smaller screen, a way worse 1920 x 1080 resolution and a little bit worse quantity of pixels per inch of display. Google Pixel XL features a lot bigger memory capacity for applications, games, photos and videos than Google Nexus 5, because it has more internal storage.

The Google Pixel XL has a way better battery lifetime than Google Nexus 5, because it has a 50% larger battery capacity. The Google Pixel XL counts with a much better camera than Google Nexus 5, because it has a much better video definition, a way bigger sensor taking way better quality videos and photos, a much better 12.3 MP resolution camera and a larger diafragm aperture for better photos in low-light environments.

Although Google Pixel XL is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Google Nexus 5, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Google Nexus 5. If you are trying to save some money, you can buy Google Nexus 5, letting go a couple features, but you will get the most out of your budget.
