Comparison review
The Galaxy M31 has a score of 86.5, which is slightly better than Sony Xperia XZ3's general score of 79.6. The Galaxy M31 is a newer phone, and it's also somewhat thinner and just a little bit lighter than the Sony Xperia XZ3. Both of these devices have Android OS (operating system), but Galaxy M31 has the older 11 version and Sony Xperia XZ3 has Android 9.0 Pie version.
Xperia XZ3 features a little better processing power than Galaxy M31, although it has 2 GB less RAM memory, they both have the same number of cores. The Xperia XZ3 counts with a bit sharper display than Galaxy M31, because although it has a little smaller display, it also counts with a better pixel amount in each inch in the screen, a brighter display and a higher resolution of 1440 x 2880 pixels.
Samsung Galaxy M31 and Sony Xperia XZ3 both feature extremely similar storage capacity to install games and applications, both have an external memory card slot that admits up to 512 GB and exactly the same internal memory. Galaxy M31 has a very superior battery life than Xperia XZ3, because it has a 6000mAh battery size.
The Galaxy M31 has a better camera than Sony Xperia XZ3, and although they both have the same 30 fps video frame rates and the same 3840x2160 (4K) video quality, the Galaxy M31 also has a much bigger sensor which gives a way higher image and video quality, a bigger aperture and a much more megapixels back facing camera.
