Alcatel OneTouch Snap is a mid-level Android phone released back in the year 2013, equipped with a medium 4.5 inches multi touch screen, a high-tech 1200 MHz Quad-Core CPU, and 2 cameras, an 8 mega-pixels back side camera and a 1.3 megapixels front camera.
Alcatel decided to build this cellphone with a MediaTek MT6589 system chip, packing a very powerful Quad-Core processing unit running at 1.2 GHz and only 1 GB of RAM memory which is a little poor comparing with this cellphone's awesome CPU. Graphic intensive applications and games generally eats a lot of processor cycles, so the Alcatel OneTouch Snap uses an additional PowerVR SGX544 graphics processing unit clocking at 384 MHz to help the CPU with those tasks. The Alcatel OneTouch Snap has an average 4 GB internal storage memory, which is enough for the vast majority of users considering it also has a slot for an SD memory card .
Alcatel has made a very good job making the Alcatel OneTouch Snap weight just 4.59 ounces. Although this phone is only 5.13" long, it manages to pack a 4.5 inches screen. Being just 0.35 inches thick, this cellphone is extremely slim and practical.
The Alcatel OneTouch Snap is equipped with a very good 960 x 540 4.5 inches screen, which makes it hard to see the pixels that compose the screen. Its screen uses TFT capacitive technology, and allows multi-touch gestures.
This phone features two cameras, an 8 megapixels back camera and a 1.3 MP front camera. The Alcatel OneTouch Snap can also film videos in 1280x720 (HD). This camera also has flash.
This phone has a mid sized 1800 mAh Li-Ion removable battery that can keep this cellphone running for some hours, although you will probably need to charge it after some moderate to heavy usage. According to Alcatel, this phone has a reported talk time of 11 hs and a stand by time of 440 hs.
The Alcatel OneTouch Snap offers WiFi connectivity (but it can't be provided to other devices as a mobile hotspot), HSPA+ 4G connectivity, which is not as fast as LTE or LTE-A 4G networks and the fastest 3G connectivity, over HSDPA, HSPA, HSUPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. This cellphone has dual sim cards to be able to to work with 2 different phone lines.
This phone also features a few cool characteristics as Bluetooth (for communication with other cellphones, computers and accessories) and GPS (Global Positioning System), and plenty of sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.
Alcatel is offering this device for 249 dollars, which is expensive for comparing with similar cellphones. If you will use it as a gaming cellphone or are looking for a phone to majorly use social networks, this phone is probably the correct choice for you.
