GIGABYTE GSmart Essence is a mid-to-low level Android device, having a 4.5" capacitive touch-screen, a great performance CPU ticking at 1200 MHz, and 2 cameras, a 5 megapixels back camera and a 2 MP front-facing camera. That's all? No, it's only the beginning of this extreme review.
The GIGABYTE GSmart Essence is incredibly slim and stilized, with a thickness of just 0.35 inches. Gigabyte has made a great job making the GIGABYTE GSmart Essence weight only 4.41 oz.
Gigabyte decided to build this cellphone using a Spreadtrum SC7731 system chip, holding a great performance 1.2 gigahertz CPU and 512 MB of RAM. A good advantage of this device is the 8 GB quite big internal memory and an SD memory card expansion slot, which allows you to install a couple hundred applications without running out of space.
This cellphone has two cameras, a 5 MP back facing camera and a 2 MP front camera. Additionally, the camera includes geo tagging and flash.
This phone has a good looking 4.5" screen with a 854 x 480 resolution, giving this cellphone a very good graphical experience. Its screen uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, and can detect multiple fingers at the same time.
This cellphone has WiFi connection (although it can't provide it to other devices as a mobile hotspot), HSPA+ (4G) connectivity, which is not as fast as LTE-A or LTE 4G networks and the fastest 3G connection type, using HSDPA, HSUPA and EDGE technologies. The GIGABYTE GSmart Essence has dual sim cards so it's able to use two different phone numbers or carriers in the same cellphone.
This device features a good 1600 mAh Li - Ion battery providing the GIGABYTE GSmart Essence with a poor battery duration. Gigabyte reports a 12 hs talk time and a 240 hours stand by time for this phone.
The GIGABYTE GSmart Essence also comes with a few useful characteristics as Bluetooth (2.1, EDR), GPS and Radio, and multiple sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.
Gigabyte is selling this cellphone for 249 dollars, which is not a really offer for comparing with other similar devices.
