HTC One S Review

HTC One S is a high-end cellphone launched in February 2012, packed with a 4.3-inches screen, an exceptional 1.5 GHz Dual-Core CPU, and 2 cameras, an 8 mega-pixels back-facing camera and a 0.3 megapixels front camera.

The HTC One S is much lighter than what one would think about a cellphone this size. This cellphone is extremely slim and good-looking, with a thickness of just 0.31 inches.

HTC decided to build this phone using a high performance Dual-Core CPU ticking at 1.5 gigahertz, bundled in a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus MSM8260A system chip with only 1 GB of RAM memory which is a bit low comparing with this cellphone's impressive processing power. Graphic intensive applications usually uses a lot of processor time, so it also has an extra 400 megahertz Adreno 225 GPU to take care of them, leaving the CPU free for other tasks. A good feature of the HTC One S is its big 16 GB internal memory and while it doesn't count with a slot for an SD memory card, it should be enough to store hundreds of apps, but it may not be suitable if you are fan of the heaviest games currently available.

This cellphone has two cameras, an 8 MP back-facing camera and a 0.3 mega-pixels front facing camera. This phone also shoots Full HD 1920x1080 videos at 29 frames per second. In addition, the camera features a lot of cool features like auto-focus, flash, digital image stabilization, fast burst mode, face detection shooting, smile detection shooting and HDR mode.

The HTC One S has a good level 960 x 540 4.3 inches display, making everything look beautiful. This display uses Super AMOLED capacitive technology, and has multi-touch detection.

This cellphone uses a mid capacity 1650 mAh Li-Ion removable battery, which is quite poor for a device like this. According to HTC, the HTC One S has an aproximate 7 hs talk time and a 430 hours stand by time.

This cellphone has WiFi connectivity (which can be provided to other devices acting as a wireless modem or router), 4G (HSPA+) connection type, which is not so fast as LTE-A or LTE networks and 3G fast connectivity, using HSDPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. The HTC One S uses a Micro SIM card to connect to GSM networks.

The HTC One S also includes a couple of cool characteristics as Bluetooth (for communication with other devices, computers, and accessories) and GPS Navigation, and lots of sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer, Gyroscope and Compass.

This cellphone is being sold for 300 dollars, very expensive for a cellphone this level. This phone is very appropiate no matter whether you are looking for a cellphone for gaming, want a device to mostly use social networks, want this phone for work or you love taking pictures.
