Lenovo S850 Review

Lenovo S850 is a mid-end Android device launched in 2014, featuring a comfortable 5 inches touch-screen, a high speed 1.3 gigahertz Quad-Core processor, and two cameras, a 13 MP back side camera and a 5 megapixels front facing camera.

This cellphone ships with a MediaTek 6582 system chip, backed up by a high-tech Quad-Core processing unit ticking at 1.3 GHz and only 1 GB RAM which is a little bit low for such a good phone. Graphic calculations often eats lots of processor time, so it uses a 500 megahertz ARM Mali-400 GPU to help handle those graphic tasks. This phone has a 16 GB interesting internal storage memory and whereas it doesn't have an SD memory card expansion slot, it should be enough to install a couple hundred applications, but it probably wouldn't be suitable if you are fan of the heaviest games available nowadays.

About its design, the Lenovo S850 is mainly built with Glass. This phone is just 0.32 inches thick, making its way into the thinnest devices podium. This device just has 5.5" long and 2.79 inches wide, but it still manages to hold a 5" display. This phone is much lighter than what you would expect from a device this size. This cellphone is sold in 2 colors, pink and white.

The Lenovo S850 has two cameras, a 13 mega-pixels back camera and a 5 MP front camera. In addition, the camera has auto-focus and flash.

Lenovo packed this phone with a very good 5-inches screen, and a 1280 x 720 (HD) resolution, which makes it hard to see the pixels taking part of the screen. This screen uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, and has multi-touch detection.

The Lenovo S850 counts with a good 2000 mAh Li-Polymer non-replaceable battery providing this phone with a quite short battery life. Lenovo says this cellphone has a talk time of 13 hours and a stand by time of 336 hs. A big issue to take into consideration is that this phone's battery isn't replaceable so you can't buy a new battery when it starts to have trouble holding its charge, making it necessary to replace the whole phone.

The Lenovo S850 features WiFi capability (which can be provided to other devices around, as a mobile hotspot), HSPA+ (4G) connection type, which is not so fast as LTE-A or LTE networks and the fastest 3G connection type, over HSDPA and EDGE technologies. The Lenovo S850 uses a Micro SIM card to connect to GSM networks.

The Lenovo S850 also includes a couple of cool characteristics as Bluetooth (provides communication with other cellphones and accessories), GPS Geolocation and FM Radio, and lots of sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.

Lenovo is offering this cellphone for 255 dollars, which is not cheap for a device this level. This phone is the correct choice for you it doesn't matter whether you want this phone for playing games or want a social device.
