Micromax Unite 2 Review

(A106) Score: 48.5 / 100

Micromax Unite 2 is a bit outdated device, featuring an extremely fast 1300 MHz Quad-Core processor, a medium 4.7 inches screen, and two cameras, a 5 megapixels back facing camera and a 2 MP front side camera. That's everything we have to say? No, it's only the tip of the iceberg.

Though this cellphone is only 0 inches long and 0" wide, it manages to hold a 4.7 inches screen. This cellphone is just available in white color.

Micromax sells this device with a Mediatek MT6582M system chip, packing a high performance 1.3 gigahertz Quad-Core CPU with only 1 GB of RAM which is a little bit disappointing for such a good phone. Graphic rendering generally consume lots of CPU processing time, so the Micromax Unite 2 also counts with a 500 megahertz ARM Mali-400 GPU to help handle those graphic tasks. The Micromax Unite 2 has a 1,67 GB internal storage memory, a decent amount that should be enough having that it also has an SD card slot to store pictures and videos and even some apps that allow being installed in the external memory.

The Micromax Unite 2 features two cameras, a 5 MP back facing camera and a 2 mega-pixels front facing camera. It can also shoot 1280x720 HD videos. In addition, the camera has a few nice features like auto-focus, flash and geo tagging.

Micromax packed the Micromax Unite 2 with a good level 4.7-inches display, and a resolution of 800 x 480 , providing this phone with a regular graphic quality. Its display uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, and has multi-touch detection.

This phone provides wifi connection (which it can share with other devices acting as a mobile hotspot), 4G (HSPA+) internet connection, which is not as fast as LTE or LTE-A 4G networks and fast 3G internet connection, over HSDPA, HSUPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. This phone has dual sim cards so it's able to use two different phone lines or carriers at the same time.

This phone also features a few cool features such as Bluetooth (provides communication with other bluetooth cellphones and accessories), GPS and Radio, and lots of sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.

This phone comes with a mid sized 2000 mAh replaceable battery, which is quite low for a consuming cellphone like this. Micromax claims this phone has a 8 hours talk time and a 190 hs stand by time.

This device is not very convinient considering it is sold for $ 155, and many similar cellphones are being sold much cheaper than that.
