Motorola DROID 3 Review

Motorola DROID 3 is a mid-level device, provisioned with a 4" display, a good performance Dual-Core processor ticking at 1 gigahertz, an 8 megapixels back-facing camera and a 0.3 MP front facing camera.

This device is a bit thick compared to current phones, with its 0.51 inches thickness. Motorola forgot about weight optimization in this 6.49 ounces cellphone, much heavier than other similar devices.

Motorola ships this phone with a TI OMAP 4430 chip, backed up by a fast Dual-Core processing unit ticking at 1000 MHz and 512 MB RAM. To help with graphic intensive apps and games, it also counts with a 200 megahertz PowerVR SGX540 GPU. This cellphone counts with a 16 GB quite large internal storage and an SD extension slot, enough to install hundreds of applications without any trouble.

This cellphone has a good looking 960 x 540 4-inches screen, which makes everything look very nice.

This cellphone features two cameras, an 8 MP back facing camera and a 0.3 mega-pixels front-facing camera. It is also able to capture videos up to 1920x1080 (Full HD) at 30 frames per second. This cellphone also features a few good features like auto-focus, flash, geo tagging and face detection shooting.

The Motorola DROID 3 has a medium 1540 mAh Li-Ion removable battery that provides this device a poor battery duration. This device has an aproximate 300 hs stand by time and a 9.2 hs talk time.

The Motorola DROID 3 features Wi-Fi connection (but it can't be provided to other devices as a mobile mobile hotspot) and 3G fast internet connection, using HSDPA, HSUPA, UMTS, EV-DO A and EDGE technologies. The Motorola DROID 3 works with a SIM card for GSM networks and it can connect to both CDMA and GSM networks.

This phone also features a couple interesting features as Bluetooth and GPS Geolocation, and multiple sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.

Motorola sells this cellphone for $ 330, which is not cheap for this type of phone. No matter if you want a phone for playing games or need a cellphone to mostly use social networks and internet browsing, you will probably love this cellphone.
