Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition Review

Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition is a low-end Symbian device released back in 2009, equipped with a powerful 434 megahertz processor, a 3.2 megapixels back camera and a 3.2-inches screen.

Nokia didn't seem to put much effort to reduce weight in this 3.84 oz device. This cellphone is quite thick for today's standards, being as thick as 0.61". The Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition isn't really a compact cellphone, taking into consideration it is 4.37 inches long and 2.04" wide,but it just holds a 3.2" display.

Nokia sells the Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition with a powerful processing unit speeding at 434 megahertz and as little as 128 MB RAM memory.

Nokia packed the Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition with a very good 3.2-inches screen, and a resolution of 640 x 360 , which makes everything look very good. This screen uses TFT resistive technology, but it doesn't allow multi-touch gestures.

This cellphone is equipped with only a 3.2 mega-pixels back-facing camera. It is also able to capture 640x480 VGA videos at 30 fps. This camera also counts with flash.

The Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition uses a medium sized 1320 mAh Li-Ion battery, which is quite low for a demanding cellphone like this. This device has an estimated talk time of 8.8 hs and a stand by time of 406 hours.

This device includes wifi capability (although it can't be provided to other devices around, as a mobile hotspot) and 3G fast data connection, over HSDPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. This cellphone uses a SIM card for GSM services.

This cellphone also features a few nice characteristics as Bluetooth (2.0, EDR) and GPS, and a couple sensors likeProximity Sensor and Accelerometer.

This device is not a good choice considering it is sold for 290 dollars, while many similar phones can be found for much less money.
