Nokia Lumia 505 Review

Nokia Lumia 505 is a decent quality Windows Phone 7.8 cellphone, equipped with an 8 mega-pixels back facing camera, a powerful processor speeding at 800 MHz and a 4-inches multi-touch screen.

Nokia decided to power the Lumia 505 using a quite powerful 800 megahertz processing unit, included in a Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 MSM7227A chip with as little as 256 MB of RAM. Graphic rendering often eats lots of CPU time, so the Lumia 505 also counts with an Adreno 200 (enhanced) graphic processing unit ticking at 200 MHz to unload the processor. This cellphone comes with a moderate 4 GB internal storage, which may be a bit low depending on the use considering that this cellphone doesn't come with a slot for external memory cards.

Nokia didn't seem to put much effort to reduce weight in this 4.62 ounces phone. Nokia made the Nokia Lumia 505available just in black, pink and red. This cellphone is thin and practical, though it's not close to being one of the thinnest cellphones on sale, with a thickness of 0.44".

The Lumia 505 only features an 8 megapixels back camera. Its back camera has a 2.8 aperture so it has serious difficulties taking sharp pictures in low-light situations. It can also shoot videos in VGA 640x480 at 30 fps.

The Lumia 505 has a good looking 4" screen with a 800 x 480 resolution, giving this phone a very good image quality. This screen uses AMOLED capacitive technology, and can detect multi touch gestures.

This device includes WiFi connection (although it can't be provided to other devices acting as a hotspot) and the fastest 3G connection type, over HSDPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. This cellphone uses a SIM card to use GSM services.

This device counts with a 1300 mAh medium sized Li-Ion replaceable battery, which is not really enough for a consuming phone like this. This cellphone has an estimated 670 hours stand by time and a 7.3 hs talk time according to Nokia.

This phone also features some interesting characteristics such as Bluetooth (provides communication with other cellphones and accessories) and GPS Navigation, and some sensors likeProximity Sensor and Accelerometer.

This phone is being sold for around $ 115, which is expensive for this kind of cellphone.
