Nokia N79 Review

Nokia N79 is a modest Symbian phone released back in 2008, equipped with a 5 megapixels back camera and a 2.4-inches screen. Let's take a closer view of what this phone can do.

This device comes with a poor 51,2 MB internal memory, which might be adequate for basic users considering that it also has a slot for external memory cards to store photos and videos and even some games and apps that can be installed in the external memory.

Nokia didn't seem to put much effort to reduce weight in this 3.42 ounces cellphone. Even though this phone is 4.33" long and 1.93" wide, it only comes with a way smaller 2.4" screen. The Nokia N79 is a little thick for nowadays standards, with its 0.59 inches thickness.

The Nokia N79 has only a 5 MP back side camera. Its back side camera lens has a f/2.8 aperture so it's serious problems taking clear photos in poor lighting environments. This phone also captures videos up to 640x480 (VGA) at 30 frames per second. This camera also features a few interesting characteristics like flash, digital image stabilization, auto-focus and geo tagging.

This cellphone has an average 2.4 inches display with a 320 x 240 (QVGA) resolution, providing this device with a decent image quality.

This phone counts with wi-fi connectivity (although it can't provide it to other devices acting as a modem) and the fastest 3G connectivity, over HSDPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. The Nokia N79 uses a SIM card for GSM connection.

This cellphone has a 1200 mAh small sized Li-Ion battery that provides this cellphone a poor battery life. This phone has an estimated 5.5 hours talk time and a 370 hours stand by time according to Nokia.

The Nokia N79 also comes with a couple of interesting features as Bluetooth (2.0, EDR) and GPS Localization, and a couple sensors likeLight Sensor and Accelerometer.

This phone is being sold for around $ 139, very expensive for this kind of cellphone.
