Samsung Galaxy Rugby Pro Review

Samsung Galaxy Rugby Pro is a powerful Android phone released in September 2012, which features a 4" capacitive display, a great Dual-Core processing unit clocking at 1.5 gigahertz, and two cameras, a 5 MP back facing camera and a 1.3 mega-pixels front facing camera.

Samsung decided to power this cellphone with a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus MSM8960 chip, holding a very fast Dual-Core CPU clocking at 1.5 gigahertz with only 1 GB of RAM which is a little bit low for a phone this good. Collaborating with graphic intensive games and apps, it also uses a 400 megahertz Adreno 225 graphics processing unit. A good point of this cellphone is its quite big 8 GB internal storage and an external SD slot, allowing you to store a couple hundred applications and games without any problem.

The Rugby Pro is a bit thick for nowadays standards, with its 0.51 inches thickness. Samsung has made an excellent design job making this phone weight only 4.6 oz.

The Rugby Pro features two cameras, a 5 MP back facing camera and a 1.3 megapixels front facing camera. This phone also shoots 1920x1080 Full HD videos. To complete the camera, it also counts with flash.

This cellphone is equipped with a interesting 800 x 480 4" display, which makes all images and movies look very nice. This display uses Super AMOLED capacitive technology, and allows multi-touch for gestures like pinch and zoom.

The Samsung Galaxy Rugby Pro features Wi-Fi capability (which it can provide to other devices around, as a mobile hotspot), LTE (4G) high performance connectivity and 3G fast data connection, supported by HSPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. This cellphone uses a SIM card for GSM connection.

This device also features a handful of interesting features like Near Field Communication (NFC), Bluetooth (enables communication with other bluetooth devices, computers, and accessories) and GPS (Global Positioning System), and a few sensors likeLight Sensor, Proximity Sensor and Accelerometer.

This cellphone has a mid capacity 1850 mAh Li-Ion battery that provides the Samsung Galaxy Rugby Pro a below average battery life comparing with other similar cellphones. According to Samsung, this phone has a reported 288 hours stand by time and a 11 hs talk time.

The Samsung Galaxy Rugby Pro may not be such a good choice considering it costs $ 125, while other similar phones are being sold for less than that.
