Samsung Galaxy Star 2 Review

Samsung Galaxy Star 2 is a not so powerful cellphone, having a processor ticking at 1000 MHz, a medium 3.5 inches touch-screen and a 2 megapixels back camera.

Samsung is offering this cellphone in 2 color options: black and white. Though this phone is thin and comfortable it's not even close to being one of the thinnest cellphones in the market, with a thickness of 0.46". Samsung appears to have forgotten about weight optimization in this 3.8 oz cellphone.

This phone is equipped with a good level 3.5 inches display with a 480 x 320 resolution, providing this cellphone with a decent graphic quality. This display uses TFT capacitive technology, and allows multi-touch gestures.

This phone is powered by a good performance 1 gigahertz processing unit, packed into the Spreadtrum SC6815 chip and 512 MB of RAM memory. Graphic rendering often uses a lot of processor cycles, so it also has an extra 320 megahertz ARM Mali-400 MP1 graphics processing unit to help with that calculations. This phone comes with a 4 GB internal memory, a decent amount that should be adequate for most users considering it also has a slot for an external memory card .

The Star 2 is only equipped with a 2 MP back facing camera. It is also able to film videos in 640x480 (VGA) at 24 fps. In addition, the camera counts with geo tagging.

This cellphone features a medium capacity 1300 mAh replaceable battery that can keep this cellphone running for many hours, although you will find yourself looking for a place to charge it after some moderate to heavy usage.

This cellphone offers wifi capability (but it can't be provided to other devices acting as a wireless router or modem) and 3G connection type, over EDGE technologies. This cellphone has dual sim cards to be able to to use 2 different phone lines and even different carriers.

This cellphone also features a couple of useful features such as Bluetooth (enables communication with other bluetooth cellphones, computers and accessories), GPS Geolocation and FM Radio, and some sensors likeProximity Sensor and Accelerometer.

Samsung offers the Star 2 for $ 120, which is expensive for this kind of phone.
