Sony Xperia TL Review

Sony Xperia TL is a high-level device released back in 2012, packed with a medium sized 4.5 inches multi-touch display, a high speed 1.5 gigahertz Dual-Core processing unit, and two cameras, a 13 megapixels back camera and a 1.3 mega-pixels front side camera.

Sony sells the Sony Xperia TL in three colors: black, white and gray. Sony didn't seem to put much effort to reduce weight in this 5.22 oz device. The Sony Xperia TL is a compact phone, given that it has a 4.5" display and it only has 5.09" long and 2.65" wide. This phone has an amazing design, with a thickness of just 0.37 inches.

Sony decided to equip this device with a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus MSM8960 chip, backed up by an extremely fast 1.5 GHz Dual-Core processing unit and only 1 GB of RAM memory which is a little bit poor for such a powerful phone. Graphic rendering generally eats lots of CPU time, so it also uses a 400 MHz Adreno 225 graphic processing unit to help handle those graphic tasks. A nice advantage of this phone is its big 16 GB internal storage and an SD extension slot, allowing the user to install hundreds of games and applications without any trouble.

The Sony Xperia TL includes a gorgeous 4.5-inches display with a 1280 x 720 (HD) resolution, providing this phone with a very detailed graphic quality. This display uses TFT capacitive technology, and can detect multi touch gestures.

The Sony Xperia TL has two cameras, a 13 megapixels back-facing camera and a 1.3 MP front camera. It is capable of capturing videos in Full HD 1920x1080 at 30 fps. To complete the camera, it also features a couple of nice characteristics like flash, digital image stabilization, auto-focus, face detection shooting and geo tagging.

This cellphone includes wifi capability (which it can share with other devices around, acting as a wireless modem), 4G (LTE) great performance connection type and also HSPA+ connection type, a bit slower 4G variation and 3G fast connection type, supported by HSDPA, HSUPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. This cellphone uses a Micro SIM card for GSM carriers.

This phone also features a couple of nice characteristics such as Near Field Communication (NFC), Bluetooth (3.1) and GPS (Global Positioning System), and lots of sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer, Gyroscope and Compass.

This device comes with a 1850 mAh medium capacity replaceable battery, which is not really enough for a demanding cellphone like this. This phone has a reported stand by time of 450 hs and a talk time of 7 hours according to Sony.

The Sony Xperia TL might be a little bit overpriced considering it is sold for 125 dollars, while other similar cellphones are sold for a bit less than that. No matter if you will use this phone for playing games, want this cellphone mostly for social networks, will use it as a work device or want this cellphone to take plenty of pictures, you will probably be very satisfied with it.
