Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Review

Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini is a little outdated cellphone released many years ago, packing a 5 mega-pixels back facing camera, a powerful CPU speeding at 1000 megahertz and a small sized 3 inches touch-screen.

Sony decided to build this cellphone with a powerful 1000 MHz processing unit, bundled in a Qualcomm Snapdragon S2 MSM8255 system chip and 512 MB of RAM memory. Graphic calculations often consume lots of processor time, so it also also has a 245 MHz Adreno 205 graphic processing unit to help with that calculations. The Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini counts with a little 327,68 MB internal storage, which might be enough for basic users knowing that the Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini also has an SD extension slot to store pictures and videos and even some applications that allow external memory installation.

Sony didn't put much effort to reduce weight in this 3.32 ounces phone, way heavier than other similar cellphones. Sony sells the Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini in many colors, black, pink, blue and white. This cellphone is quite thick for nowadays standards, with a thickness of 0.63 inches.

This cellphone has only a 5 megapixels back side camera. It is capable of filming videos up to 1280x720 (HD). The camera also includes a high number of useful features: auto-focus, flash, face detection shooting, digital image stabilization, geo tagging and smile detection shooting.

Sony designed the Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini with a nice 3" display, and a 480 x 320 resolution, making everything look quite vivid. This display uses TFT capacitive technology, and is multi-touch enabled.

This cellphone provides wi-fi capability (although it can't share it with other devices around, as a mobile hotspot) and fast 3G connection type, supported by HSDPA, HSUPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. This phone uses a SIM card for GSM carriers.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini packs a poor capacity 1200 mAh Li-Ion removable battery that can keep this phone running for some hours, although you will find yourself looking for a place to charge it after some moderate use. According to Sony, this phone has an aproximate 4.5 hours talk time and a 340 hours stand by time.

This device also comes with a handful of nice characteristics like Bluetooth (enables communication with other devices, computers, and accessories) and GPS Localization, and some sensors likeLight Sensor, Proximity Sensor and Accelerometer.

This device is really overpriced considering it is offerred for $ 170, while some similar cellphones are a lot cheaper than that.
