Sony Xperia Z3 Review

Sony Xperia Z3 is a very complete Android phone released back in 2014, packed with a high speed Quad-Core CPU running at 2500 MHz, a 5.2 inches capacitive touch-screen, and 2 cameras, a 20.7 megapixels back facing camera and a 2.2 megapixels front-facing camera.

Sony sells this cellphone with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 8974-AC chip, holding a very fast Quad-Core processing unit ticking at 2.5 gigahertz with a great 3 GB of RAM memory. Graphic rendering usually eats a lot of processor cycles, so it has an Adreno 330 graphic processing unit working at 450 MHz to help with that calculations. A nice point of this device is its quite large 16 GB internal storage and an external SD slot, enough to store hundreds of games and apps without worrying about space.

The Sony Xperia Z3 is much lighter than what you expect from a device of this size. Being just 0.29 inches thick,the Sony Xperia Z3 is very slim and stilized. This phone is quite a compact cellphone, given that it packs a 5.2 inches display and it is just 5.75" long. Sony made this phoneavailable just in two color options: black and white.

This cellphone has two cameras, a 20.7 MP back camera and a 2.2 mega-pixels front facing camera. Its back camera has a 2 aperture so it can capture sharp pictures even in low lighting conditions. The Sony Xperia Z3 also captures videos in 3840x2160 (4K) at 30 frames per second, and slow motion videos up to 1280x720 (HD) up to 120 frames per second (4 times slower than reality). This phone also counts with multiple interesting features: auto-focus, flash, digital image stabilization, fast burst mode, face detection shooting, HDR mode, smile detection shooting and geo tagging.

Sony equipped this phone with a gorgeous 5.2 inches screen, and a 1920 x 1080 (Full HD) resolution, which makes everything look beautiful and brightful. Its screen uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, with a brightness of 592 cd/m2 and is multi-touch enabled.

This cellphone uses a big 3100 mAh non-replaceable battery, enough to provide the Sony Xperia Z3 with a great battery duration. Sony claims this cellphone has a talk time of 14 hs and a stand by time of 890 hs. An issue to evaluate is that this device's battery isn't replaceable so you won't be able to replace it when it begins to last shorter, although with such a great capacity you will probably discard this cellphone before that becomes an issue.

This cellphone provides wi-fi capability (and it can be shared with other devices around, as a mobile hotspot), LTE (4G) high speed connectivity and also HSPA+ connectivity, which is a lower speed 4G type and fast 3G connectivity, supported by HSDPA, HSUPA and EDGE technologies. The Sony Xperia Z3 uses a Nano SIM card for GSM carriers.

This device also comes with a few interesting characteristics as Near Field Communication (NFC), Bluetooth (4.0) and GPS Localization, and plenty of sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Barometer and Compass.

Sony is selling the Sony Xperia Z3 for about 170 dollars, which is quite close to other same level cellphones. If you want it to play tons of games, want it mainly for social networks, want this cellphone for work or want this phone to take tons of photographs, you will definitely love this phone.
