Lenovo TAB 2 A8 is a good quality Android tablet, coming with a great 64 bits Quad-Core CPU ticking at 1300 megahertz, a comfortable 8 inches display, a 5 mega-pixels back-facing camera and a 2 megapixels front-facing camera. Is that all? Not at all, it's just the introduction of this extreme review.
The Lenovo TAB 2 A8 has an amazing design, with a thickness of just 0.35". Though the Lenovo TAB 2 A8 is just 8.27" long, it manages to hold a 8" screen. Lenovo offers the Lenovo TAB 2 A8 in three colors: pink, blue and white. It seems like Lenovo forgot about optimizing the weight in this 11.64 ounces tablet.
Lenovo decided to power this device with a very powerful 1300 megahertz Quad-Core 64-bit processor, bundled in the MediaTek MT8732 system chip and only 1 GB RAM which is a little bit disappointing for a tablet this powerful. Graphic rendering generally eats lots of CPU time, so it uses an extra 416 MHz ARM Mali-T760 MP2 graphics processing unit to unload the CPU. A nice point of the Lenovo TAB 2 A8 is its big 16 GB internal storage memory and an SD card slot, which allows the user to store hundreds of games and applications without running out of space.
Lenovo equipped this tablet with an average 8" screen, and a resolution of 1280 x 800 , which makes all images and videos look quite good. This screen uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, and has multi-touch detection.
This device has two cameras, a 5 mega-pixels back-facing camera and a 2 megapixels front facing camera. Additionally, this tablet's camera also includes auto-focus and geo tagging.
The Lenovo TAB 2 A8 uses a huge 4200 mAh Li-Ion non-replaceable battery that provides this tablet an incredibly long battery life. An issue to take into account is that the Lenovo TAB 2 A8's battery is non-replaceable so you can't throw it away and buy a new one when it starts to last shorter, although having 4200 mAh you will probably discard this tablet before it becomes an issue.
The Lenovo TAB 2 A8 has WiFi connection (although it can't be provided to other devices acting as a hotspot), LTE (4G) high speed connection type and fast 3G internet connection, supported by HSPA, HSUPA and EDGE technologies. This tablet uses 2 Micro SIM cards so it's able to use two different phone numbers or carriers at the same time.
The Lenovo TAB 2 A8 also features a few nice features like Bluetooth (allows communication with other bluetooth devices, computers, and accessories) and GPS (Global Positioning System), and a few sensors likeLight Sensor, Proximity Sensor and Accelerometer.
Lenovo is selling this tablet for $ 259, which is a very high price for a device this level. No matter if you want a portable tablet for work, want a gaming device or want a tablet majorly for internet broswing and social networks, this tablet is the right one for you.
