BlackBerry Curve 9380 Review

(9380) Score: 47.3 / 100

BlackBerry Curve 9380 is a not so powerful cellphone released some years ago, in 2011, including a good performance CPU ticking at 806 MHz, a medium sized 3.2" capacitive screen and a 5 MP back side camera.

Blackberry decided to power the BlackBerry Curve 9380 using a great performance CPU running at 806 megahertz with 512 MB RAM. To help with graphic rendering, it also uses a 320 megahertz ARM Mali-400 MP1 graphics processing unit. This phone comes with a 524,29 MB internal memory, a poor quantity that may be adequate for some users having that the BlackBerry Curve 9380 also has an SD memory card expansion slot to store songs, pictures and videos and even some games and apps that allow being installed in the external memory.

This cellphone is much lighter than what you expect from a cellphone like this. Blackberry made the BlackBerry Curve 9380available just in color black. The BlackBerry Curve 9380's thickness of 0.44 inches is quite far from today's standards, but it still feels quite fine in the hand. This device isn't a very compact phone, given that it is 4.29" long, but it only holds a 3.2" display.

Blackberry designed this phone with a good 3.2-inches screen, and a 480 x 360 resolution, which makes everything look nice. Its screen uses TFT capacitive technology, and has multi-touch detection.

This device has only a 5 mega-pixels back camera. It is capable of filming VGA 640x480 videos. Additionally, the camera counts with a few good characteristics: flash, face detection shooting, digital image stabilization and geo tagging.

This cellphone provides Wi-Fi connection (although it can't share it with other devices around, acting as a hotspot) and the fastest 3G connectivity, using HSPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. This phone uses a SIM card for GSM services.

This phone also features lots of useful features such as NFC, Bluetooth (2.1, EDR), GPS Navigation and FM Radio, and a few sensors likeLight Sensor, Proximity Sensor and Accelerometer.

The BlackBerry Curve 9380 comes with a medium capacity 1230 mAh Li-Ion replaceable battery providing this phone with a quite short battery duration. Blackberry informs a 5.5 hs talk time and a 360 hs stand by time for this cellphone.

Blackberry offers the BlackBerry Curve 9380 for 449 dollars, which is very expensive for comparing with similar phones.
