HTC Desire HD is a mid level Android cellphone released many years ago, having a 4.3-inches capacitive display, an 8 mega-pixels back facing camera and a powerful processor ticking at 1 GHz. But it's time to get into some more details.
This cellphone is a bit heavy for a phone this size, weighting 5.78 oz. This cellphone just has 4.84" long, but it's still able to fit a a 4.3" display. Although this phone is thin and comfortable it's not as slim as many other cellphones currently available, with a thickness of 0.46".
HTC decided to power this cellphone using a Qualcomm Snapdragon S2 MSM8255 system chip, backed up by a good performance 1 gigahertz CPU with 768 MB RAM. Graphic intensive tasks generally uses lots of processing power, so the HTC Desire HD also has a 245 MHz Adreno 205 GPU to take some work out of the CPU. This cellphone counts with areasonable 1,5 GB internal storage memory, which is quite good having that the HTC Desire HD also has an external memory card slot .
HTC packed this device with a nice 4.3" display, and a 800 x 480 resolution, providing this cellphone with a good graphical experience. This display uses S-LCD capacitive technology, and allows multi-touch for gestures like pinch and zoom.
The HTC Desire HD has only an 8 megapixels back-facing camera. The HTC Desire HD also films videos up to 1280x720 (HD). The camera also includes a couple of useful features: auto-focus, flash, face detection shooting and geo tagging.
The HTC Desire HD comes with a mid capacity 1230 mAh Li-Ion removable battery that provides this phone a quite short battery duration comparing with other similar phones. According to HTC, the HTC Desire HD has a reported 420 hours stand by time and a 9.2 hs talk time.
This phone features WiFi connection (but it can't provide it to other devices around, acting as a modem or router) and fast 3G connectivity, using HSDPA, HSUPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. This device uses a SIM card for GSM networks.
This cellphone also features some useful characteristics such as Bluetooth (2.1, EDR), GPS and FM Radio, and multiple sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.
This phone is not cheap at all considering it is offerred for 150 dollars, and other similar cellphones can be found for much less money.
