BLU Studio Energy Review

BLU Studio Energy is a decently made phone, with a quite big 5 inches multi-touch screen, a very powerful 1.3 gigahertz Quad-Core processor, and two cameras, an 8 MP back side camera and a 2 megapixels front side camera.

BLU sells the BLU Studio Energy with a high speed Quad-Core processing unit ticking at 1300 MHz with only 1 GB RAM memory which is a bit poor for a device this powerful. Graphic rendering usually uses a lot of processor cycles, so it also has an additional 500 megahertz ARM Mali-400 GPU to help the processor with those tasks. This cellphone counts with a good 8 GB internal memory and an SD card slot, allowing the user to store hundreds of games and applications without any problem.

It appears that BLU forgot about optimizing the weight in this 6.35 oz cellphone. This device just has 5.69" long, but it manages to hold a 5 inches display. This cellphone's thickness , 0.41", is a little far from today's standards, but it still feels right in the user's hand. This phone is available in 3 different color options, black, white and gold.

This device features two cameras, an 8 MP back-facing camera and a 2 megapixels front side camera. The BLU Studio Energy also captures Full HD 1920x1080 videos at 30 fps. This phone also features a couple of interesting characteristics like flash, auto-focus, face detection shooting, smile detection shooting and geo tagging.

BLU equipped this cellphone with a very good 5" display, and a 1280 x 720 (HD) resolution, which makes it hard to see the pixels that compose the display. Its display uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, and can detect multi touch gestures.

This device features an amazing 5000 mAh Li-Ion battery providing this phone an amazing battery life. According to BLU, this phone has an aproximate stand by time of 1090 hours and a talk time of 52 hours.

This phone offers wifi connection (which can be shared with other devices around, as a mobile hotspot). This phone doesn't use a SIM card, because it doesn't support GSM connections.

This phone also comes with some interesting features as Bluetooth (provides communication with other bluetooth phones and accessories) and GPS, and multiple sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.

This device is really expensive considering it is priced $ 205, and many similar phones are sold for much less than that. No matter if you want a cellphone to mainly use social networks and internet browsing or want a gamer phone, you will probably be very pleased with it.
