GIGABYTE GSmart Simba SX1 Review

GIGABYTE GSmart Simba SX1 is a mid-to-low level phone, packed with a 5" touch-screen, a high speed 1.4 gigahertz Dual-Core CPU, a 13 megapixels back facing camera and a 2 mega-pixels front-facing camera. We will get a better understanding of this cellphone's advantages when we get into specific details.

This phone is powered by a high performance Dual-Core CPU ticking at 1400 megahertz, included in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 MSM8230 system chip and only 1 GB RAM memory which is a bit disappointing comparing with its great processor. To handle graphic calculations, this cellphone also has a 450 MHz Adreno 305 GPU.

Apparently Gigabyte forgot about optimizing the weight in this 5.82 oz phone. This phone is just 0.37 inches thick, taking it to the thinnest phone's category. Though this phone just has 5.67 inches long and 2.87 inches wide, it still manages to contain a 5" display. Gigabyte is offering this phone in two different colors, black and white.

The GIGABYTE GSmart Simba SX1 includes a good looking 5-inches display with a 1280 x 720 (HD) resolution, which makes everything look very good. This display uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, and allows multi-touch gestures.

The GIGABYTE GSmart Simba SX1 features WiFi connection (and it can be provided to other devices acting as a mobile hotspot) and the fastest 3G data connection, supported by HSPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. The GIGABYTE GSmart Simba SX1 has dual sim cards so it is able to work with two different phone numbers in the same cellphone.

This cellphone features two cameras, a 13 megapixels back-facing camera and a 2 MP front-facing camera. this phone's back-facing camera lens has a 3 aperture so it struggles to take nice photos in low lighting situations. Additionally, the camera features a couple of good features like flash, auto-focus, HDR mode, face detection shooting and geo tagging.

This phone comes with a medium sized 1900 mAh Li-Ion battery that can keep it running for many hours, although you will need to charge it even after moderate usage. Gigabyte afirms this cellphone has a 150 hs stand by time and a 2.5 hs talk time.

The GIGABYTE GSmart Simba SX1 also features a couple of cool features like Bluetooth (for communication with other bluetooth phones and accessories), GPS (Global Positioning System) and Radio, and lots of sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.

Gigabyte sells this cellphone for $ 249, which is very expensive for a phone this level.
