HTC Butterfly S Review

HTC Butterfly S is a great phone, with a Quad-Core processor running at 1900 MHz, a good size 5" capacitive touch-screen, and two cameras, a 4 mega-pixels back side camera and a 2.1 MP front side camera.

Although this cellphone only has 5.69 inches long, it still manages to pack a 5" screen. While this device is very slim and comfortable it's not so slim as many other cellphones nowadays, with a thickness of 0.42". HTC didn't seem to put much effort to reduce weight in this 5.64 ounces phone.

This cellphone is equipped with an absolutely amazing 1920 x 1080 (Full HD) 5" display, which makes everything look beautiful and brightful. This display uses S-LCD 3 capacitive technology, and is multi-touch enabled.

HTC decided to design the HTC Butterfly S using a great Quad-Core processor clocking at 1.9 GHz, bundled in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 system chip with a large 2 GB of RAM memory. Graphic calculations generally uses a lot of CPU time, so the HTC Butterfly S uses an extra Adreno 320 GPU working at 400 MHz to unload the CPU. The HTC Butterfly S comes with aquite big 16 GB internal memory and a slot for an external memory card, which allows the user to install hundreds of applications and games without any trouble.

The HTC Butterfly S has wi-fi connection (although it can't provide it to other devices around, acting as a hotspot), HSPA+ (4G) internet connection, which is not so fast as LTE networks and fast 3G connection type, using HSDPA, HSUPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. This cellphone uses a Micro SIM card for GSM connection.

This cellphone features two cameras, a 4 megapixels back facing camera and a 2.1 mega-pixels front side camera. Its back facing camera lens has a maximum 2 aperture so it can shoot impressive photographs even in low light environments. It is also able to capture videos in Full HD 1920x1080. Additionally, this cellphone's camera also features flash and HDR mode.

This cellphone also features a great numbre of useful characteristics as NFC (to trigger actions, transfer data or make payments by holding your phone close to another NFC device or tag), Infrared Transmitter, Bluetooth (4.0) and GPS Geolocation, and multiple sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer, Gyroscope and Compass.

This cellphone uses an inmense 3200 mAh Li-Polymer battery, enough to provide this cellphone with an amazing battery duration. This device has a reported stand by time of 544 hours and a talk time of 29 hs according to HTC.

This cellphone may not be a very good choice considering it is priced 175 dollars, and many similar devices are being sold cheaper than that. This phone is probably a good choice for you no matter whether you you love taking pictures, will use it as a gaming cellphone, want a work device or will use it as a social phone.
