HTC One (M8) Review

16 GB     See other variants reviews Score: 70.4 / 100

HTC One (M8) is a very high quality Android device launched back in 2014, provisioned with a big 5" capacitive touch-screen, a high-tech Quad-Core processing unit speeding at 2.3 gigahertz, and 2 cameras, a 4 megapixels back facing camera and a 5 megapixels front-facing camera.

This phone doesn't feel very lightweight comparing to other cellphones , weighting 5.64 oz. The HTC One (M8) is just 0.37 inches thick, making its way into the thinnest phones podium. The HTC One (M8) just has 5.76 inches long and 2.78 inches wide, but it manages to hold a 5" display. This phone is for sale in many color options like gray, pink, blue, red and gold. Talking about its design materials, this cellphone is mainly made of Aluminium, giving this phone a top level finish and better resistance.

This cellphone is powered by an extremely powerful 2300 megahertz Quad-Core processing unit, packed into the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 system chip with a huge 2 GB RAM memory. Collaborating with graphic calculations, it also counts with a 450 MHz Adreno 330 GPU. This phone counts with a good 16 GB internal storage memory and a slot for SD memory cards, enough to install a couple hundred games and applications without worrying about space.

This phone has two cameras, a 4 megapixels back camera and a 5 MP front camera. Its back camera lens has a maximum 2 aperture so it can take very nice pictures even in poor lighting situations. It is also able to capture videos up to 1920x1080 (Full HD) at 60 frames per second. To complete the camera, it also has a high number of great features like flash, auto-focus, digital image stabilization, fast burst mode, smile detection shooting, face detection shooting, HDR mode and geo tagging.

HTC equipped the HTC One (M8) with a gorgeous 5" screen, and a resolution of 1920 x 1080 (Full HD), which makes it impossible to even see the pixels that compose the screen. Its screen uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, and can detect multi touch gestures.

This cellphone packs an awesome 2600 mAh Li-Polymer non-removable battery providing this device a marvelous battery life. An issue to take into consideration is that this phone's battery isn't removable so you can't buy a new battery when it begins to lose capacity, even though having 2600 mAh you will probably replace this phone before that happens.

This cellphone includes Wi-Fi connectivity (although it can't share it with other devices as a mobile hotspot), LTE 4G fast connection type and also HSPA+ internet connection, which is a lower speed 4G network and fast 3G connection type, over HSDPA and EDGE technologies. This phone uses two Nano SIM cards so it is able to work with two different phone numbers or carriers in the same phone and it can connect using both CDMA and GSM networks.

This cellphone also includes a wide range of great features such as NFC (Near Field Communication), Infrared Port, Bluetooth (for communication with other cellphones, computers and accessories) and GPS Geolocation, and lots of sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Barometer and Compass.

This device is priced around 505 dollars, which is a high price for a phone this level. This phone is definitely the right one it doesn't matter whether you are a photography fan, want this device mainly for social networks and internet browsing, need a work phone or will use this phone for gaming.
