HTC One (M8) Review

32 GB     See other variants reviews Score: 71.6 / 100

HTC One (M8) is an impressive device launched back in 2014, provisioned with a 2300 megahertz Quad-Core CPU, a quite big 5" multi touch capacitive display, and 2 cameras, a 4 megapixels back side camera and a 5 MP front camera. That's everything we have to say? No, it's only the shortest summary in history.

This device only has 5.76 inches long and 2.78" wide, but it is still able to fit a a 5" screen. This phone is extremely slim and comfortable, with a thickness of just 0.37 inches. This cellphone is sold in many different colors, gray, pink, blue, red and gold. HTC didn't seem to put much effort to reduce weight in this 5.64 oz cellphone. About its construction materials, this phone is majorly built with Aluminium, giving this cellphone a top level feel and improved resistance.

HTC equipped the HTC One (M8) with a beautiful 5 inches display, and a resolution of 1920 x 1080 (Full HD), which makes everything look absolutely perfect. Its display uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, and is multi-touch enabled.

HTC decided to power this cellphone using an extremely powerful Quad-Core processor running at 2.3 gigahertz, packed into the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chip and a big 2 GB of RAM memory. Graphic calculations generally uses lots of processing power, so this device also has an additional Adreno 330 GPU clocking at 450 megahertz to improve overall performance. This cellphone counts with a huge 32 GB internal storage and a slot for SD memory cards, allowing the user to install lots of apps, games, photos and videos without thinking about how much storage capacity is left.

This cellphone includes Wi-Fi connectivity (although it can't provide it to other devices acting as a mobile hotspot), LTE 4G fast data connection and also HSPA+ internet connection, which is a lower speed 4G technology and fast 3G connectivity, using HSDPA and EDGE technologies. This phone has 2 Nano SIM cards so it is able to use 2 different carriers or phone numbers and it can work with both CDMA and GSM networks.

This cellphone is equipped with two cameras, a 4 mega-pixels back camera and a 5 megapixels front-facing camera. Its back camera lens has a 2 aperture so it can shoot impressive photos even in low lighting environments. This cellphone also shoots Full HD 1920x1080 videos at 60 frames per second. To complete the camera, it also features many great characteristics like auto-focus, flash, fast burst mode, face detection shooting, digital image stabilization, smile detection shooting, geo tagging and HDR mode.

The HTC One (M8) packs an amazing 2600 mAh Li-Polymer non-removable battery, enough to provide this cellphone with an impressive battery duration. An issue to take into account is that this cellphone's battery is non-replaceable so you can't buy a new battery when it starts to lose its charge, although having 2600 mAh you will probably buy a new phone before that happens.

This phone also comes with lots of great characteristics as NFC, Infrared Blaster, Bluetooth (enables communication with other phones and accessories) and GPS Navigation, and lots of sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Barometer and Compass.

This phone is not very cheap considering it is offerred for 899 dollars, and many similar phones are sold for much less than that. No matter whether you will use it for playing games, you love taking photos, need a work cellphone or will use it mostly for social networks, you will definitely love this cellphone.
