Huawei IDEOS X5 Review

Huawei IDEOS X5 is a mid level cellphone released in 2010, coming with a 5 MP back camera, a good 800 megahertz CPU and a 3.8-inches multi touch capacitive display. That's everything we have to say? Not at all, it's only the introduction of a detailed review.

This cellphone's thickness (0.46 inches) is a little far from today's standards, but it still feels quite fine in the hand.

Huawei decided to equip this device with a good processing unit ticking at 800 MHz, packed into a Qualcomm Snapdragon S2 MSM7230 system chip. Collaborating with graphic rendering, it also uses a 245 megahertz Adreno 205 graphics processing unit. This device has a medium 2 GB internal storage, which is fine knowing that it also has an SD memory card expansion slot to store pictures and videos.

This device is equipped with a good looking 800 x 480 3.8" display, which makes everything look great. Its display uses TFT capacitive technology, and can detect multiple fingers at the same time.

The Huawei IDEOS X5 features wi-fi capability (but it can't share it with other devices around, acting as a mobile hotspot) and the fastest 3G internet connection, over HSDPA, HSUPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. This phone uses a SIM card to use GSM services.

This phone only has a 5 megapixels back side camera. It is capable of capturing videos in 1280x720 (HD) at 30 fps. In addition, this phone's camera also includes auto-focus and flash.

The Huawei IDEOS X5 features a medium sized 1500 mAh Li-Ion replaceable battery that provides this cellphone a poor battery duration.

The Huawei IDEOS X5 also comes with a couple of nice features as Bluetooth (2.1, EDR) and GPS (Global Positioning System), and Accelerometer.

Huawei is selling the Huawei IDEOS X5 for $ 365, which is not a good offer for a phone this level.
