Micromax Canvas Win Review

(W121) Score: 47.9 / 100

Micromax Canvas Win is a decent Windows Phone 8.1 cellphone, with a pretty large 5-inches multi touch screen, a high speed Quad-Core processor clocking at 1.2 GHz, and 2 cameras, an 8 MP back camera and a 2 megapixels front facing camera. Great! That's it? Not at all, it's just the tip of the iceberg.

Micromax decided to build this cellphone with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 chip, holding a high-tech 1200 MHz Quad-Core processing unit with only 1 GB RAM memory which is a little disappointing for a device of this level. Graphic calculations generally uses lots of CPU cycles, so it has a 400 megahertz Adreno 302 graphics processing unit to improve overall performance.

Although this cellphone only has 0 inches long and 0" wide, it is still able to fit a a 5 inches screen. The Micromax Canvas Win is only for sale in black color.

The Micromax Canvas Win is equipped with two cameras, an 8 megapixels back facing camera and a 2 MP front facing camera. To complete the camera, it also has a couple of nice features like flash, geo tagging and auto-focus.

Micromax designed this cellphone with a good looking 5" display, and a 1280 x 720 (HD) resolution, which makes all images and videos look very nice. Its display uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, and has multi-touch detection.

This cellphone counts with a medium 2000 mAh Li-Ion battery that can keep this cellphone running for many hours, although you will find yourself looking for a place to charge it even after moderate usage. Micromax afirms this phone has a talk time of 8 hours and a stand by time of 150 hours.

This device includes wi-fi connection (which it can provide to other devices around, as a mobile hotspot), HSPA+ (4G) data connection, which is not so fast as LTE-A or LTE 4G networks and fast 3G connection type, supported by HSDPA, HSUPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. This phone supports dual sim cards to be able to to work with two different phone numbers or carriers.

This phone also features a few useful characteristics as Bluetooth (4.0), GPS and Radio, and plenty of sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.

Micromax is offering the Micromax Canvas Win for 249 dollars, which is a very high price for this type of cellphone.
