Motorola Moto X Review

Motorola Moto X is a powerful cellphone launched in 2013, packing a very powerful Dual-Core processing unit running at 1.7 gigahertz, a medium 4.7-inches touch-screen, and 2 cameras, a 10 mega-pixels back-facing camera and a 2 megapixels front facing camera. Is that all? Not at all, it's just the beginning of a much deeper review.

This device is quite slim, but it's not close to being one of the thinnest phones nowadays, with a thickness of 0.41". Although this device is just 5.09 inches long and 2.57" wide, it's still able to fit a a 4.7 inches display. This time, it seems like Motorola forgot about weight optimization in this 4.59 ounces phone. Motorola made this cellphone in a wide range of color variations like black, brown, green, blue, red and white.

Motorola decided to sell this device with an extremely powerful Dual-Core CPU speeding at 1700 MHz, packed into a Motorola X8 (Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro MSM8960) system chip and a great 2 GB RAM memory. To collaborate with graphic calculations, it also uses a 400 megahertz Adreno 320 graphic processing unit. A nice point of the Motorola Moto X is the 16 GB quite large internal storage memory and although it doesn't include a slot for an external memory card, it should be enough to store hundreds of games and apps, but it may not be suitable if you are planning to install some of the heaviest games available nowadays or taking tons of photos and videos.

This phone is equipped with two cameras, a 10 mega-pixels back-facing camera and a 2 megapixels front facing camera. This phone also shoots Full HD 1920x1080 videos at 60 frames per second. To complete the camera, it also counts with a few useful features: flash, HDR mode, auto-focus and geo tagging.

This cellphone includes a gorgeous 4.7 inches display with a 1280 x 720 (HD) resolution, which makes it impossible to even distinguish the pixels forming the display. This display uses AMOLED capacitive technology, and has multi-touch detection.

This phone offers Wi-Fi capability (which can be shared with other devices acting as a wireless modem or router), 4G (LTE) high speed connection type and also HSPA+ data connection, a bit slower 4G type and fast 3G connection type, over HSDPA, HSUPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. This cellphone works with a Nano SIM card to use GSM services and it can connect to both CDMA and GSM carriers.

This phone packs a 2200 mAh big capacity non-replaceable battery providing the a good battery life. Motorola informs a stand by time of 240 hours and a talk time of 13 hours for this phone. An issue to consider is that this phone's battery is not replaceable so you won't be able to replace it when it starts losing capacity, whereas with its 2200 mAh you will probably buy a new phone before it becomes an issue.

The also features a handful of useful characteristics as NFC (Near Field Communication), Bluetooth and GPS Navigation, and plenty of sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Barometer and Compass.
