Motorola Moto X Review

Motorola Moto X is a very solid phone launched in 2013, coming with a high performance Dual-Core processing unit running at 1.7 GHz, a 4.7-inches capacitive display, and 2 cameras, a 10 mega-pixels back-facing camera and a 2 MP front camera.

While this device only has 5.09 inches long, it is still able to fit a a 4.7" display. This device is very thin and looks really nice, whereas it's not close to being one of the thinnest cellphones out there, with a thickness of 0.41 inches. This cellphone feels a bit heavy comparing with today standards, weighting 4.59 oz. This phone is sold in a wide range of color variations like black, brown, green, blue, red and white.

Motorola decided to equip the Motorola Moto X using a high performance Dual-Core processing unit speeding at 1.7 GHz, included in a Motorola X8 (Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro MSM8960) chip and a huge 2 GB of RAM. Graphic calculations often uses a lot of processor cycles, so it uses an additional 400 megahertz Adreno 320 GPU to unload the processor. This cellphone comes with a good 16 GB internal storage memory and although it doesn't include a slot for an SD memory card, it is enough to store a couple hundred games and applications, but it may not be suitable if you are fan of the heaviest games currently available or taking tons of photos and videos.

This cellphone features two cameras, a 10 mega-pixels back camera and a 2 mega-pixels front facing camera. It is capable of capturing videos in Full HD 1920x1080 at 60 frames per second. To complete the camera, it also has a couple of useful characteristics: flash, auto-focus, geo tagging and HDR mode.

The Motorola Moto X includes a spectacular 1280 x 720 (HD) 4.7-inches display, which makes all images and videos look beautiful and brightful. Its display uses AMOLED capacitive technology, and can detect multiple fingers at the same time.

This device has WiFi capability (and it can provide it to other devices as a mobile hotspot), LTE (4G) great performance internet connection and also HSPA+ connection type, which is a bit slower 4G variation and 3G fast data connection, using HSDPA, HSUPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. This cellphone uses a Nano SIM card to connect to GSM networks and it can connect using both CDMA and GSM networks.

This cellphone also features a couple nice features like NFC (to trigger actions, transfer data or make payments by holding your cellphone close to another NFC device or tag), Bluetooth (4.0, EDR) and GPS (Global Positioning System), and lots of sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Barometer and Compass.

The packs a 2200 mAh long lasting non-replaceable battery, which isn't too much for a phone like this. This device has a reported stand by time of 240 hs and a talk time of 13 hours according to Motorola. An issue to take into consideration is that the Motorola Moto X's battery is not replaceable so you can't buy a new battery when it begins to have trouble holding its charge, although having 2200 mAh you will probably replace this phone before it becomes a real problem.

Motorola is offering this cellphone for 145 dollars, which is a rather high price for comparing with similar cellphones. No matter whether you want a social device, want a cellphone for gaming, love photography or need a cellphone for work, this cellphone is definitely the right one for you.
