ARCHOS 97 Titanium HD Review

ARCHOS 97 Titanium HD is a mid-end Android tablet, with a large 9.7" capacitive screen, a very fast 1.6 GHz Dual-Core CPU, and 2 cameras, a 5 mega-pixels back side camera and a 2 megapixels front camera.

This tablet feels a bit heavy for a tablet this size, weighting 22.58 ounces. The ARCHOS 97 Titanium HD is just 9.45 inches long and 7.24" wide, but it manages to hold a 9.7" screen. Being just 0.35 inches thick,this tablet is slim and comfortable.

This tablet has a very good 9.7 inches screen with a 1536 x 2048 resolution, which makes it hard to see the pixels forming the screen. This screen uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, and allows multi-touch gestures.

Archos decided to equip this tablet device with an exceptional Dual-Core processing unit ticking at 1600 MHz and only 1 GB of RAM memory which is a little low for such a good tablet. Collaborating with graphic rendering, this tablet also has a 266 MHz ARM Mali-400 MP4 graphic processing unit. This tablet counts with a good 8 GB internal memory and an external SD slot, which allows the user to install hundreds of apps and games without any problem.

This device counts with Wi-Fi connection (although it can't be provided to other devices around, as a mobile mobile hotspot). This tablet doesn't use a SIM card, because it doesn't support GSM networks.

This tablet has two cameras, a 5 megapixels back-facing camera and a 2 MP front-facing camera. Additionally, the camera has auto-focus.

This tablet is really overvalued considering it is offerred for $ 105, while many similar tablets are being sold for much less than that. The ARCHOS 97 Titanium HD includes USB data cable, documentation and Charger.
