HP 8 Review

HP 8 is a mid-end portable tablet, packed with a big 7.8 inches multi-touch capacitive display, a fast 1 GHz Quad-Core processing unit, and 2 cameras, a 2 MP back side camera and a 0.3 mega-pixels front facing camera. Great! That's it? Not at all, it's only the introduction of a much deeper review.

This device is equipped with a Allwinner Quad-Core A31s system chip, packing a fast Quad-Core CPU speeding at 1000 megahertz with 1 GB of RAM. This tablet has an interesting 16 GB internal storage and a slot for an SD memory card, enough to install a couple hundred applications without any trouble.

The HP 8 is just 0.31" thick, making its way into the thinnest portable tablets podium. Even though this device is just 7.89 inches long and 5.37" wide, it still manages to contain a 7.8 inches display. HP has made a very good job making the HP 8 weight only 10.72 ounces.

The HP 8 is equipped with a good level 1024 x 768 7.8-inches screen, making everything look quite nice. Its screen uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, and allows multi-touch for gestures like pinch and zoom.

The HP 8 counts with WiFi capability (although it can't be provided to other devices around, as a mobile hotspot). This tablet doesn't have a SIM card, because it doesn't work with GSM networks.

This tablet has two cameras, a 2 megapixels back side camera and a 0.3 megapixels front-facing camera.

The HP 8 also includes GPS Geolocation, and lots of sensors like Light Sensor, Accelerometer, Gyroscope and Compass.

The HP 8 counts with a 3800 mAh great Li-Polymer removable battery that can keep this tablet running for several hours and even reach the end of the day without having to charge it at all.

The HP 8 is not a good choice considering it is priced 505 dollars, and some similar portable tablets are sold for much less than that. When buying this device you will also get 10 W AC charger, Micro USB cable and Quick Start Guide.
