Alcatel OneTouch EVO 7 HD Review

Score: 51.7 / 100

Alcatel OneTouch EVO 7 HD is a decent quality tablet released back in the year 2013, coming with a 7" touch-screen, an extremely powerful 1.6 GHz Dual-Core processing unit, and 2 cameras, a 3 MP back camera and a 0.3 megapixels front facing camera.

Alcatel decided to build this tablet using an extremely powerful 1.6 gigahertz Dual-Core processing unit, bundled in the Rockchip RK3066 system chip with only 1 GB RAM memory which is a little bit low considering its powerful CPU. This tablet counts with a fair 4 GB internal storage memory, which is adequate for the average user knowing that this tablet also has an external memory card slot to store photographs and videos and even some applications that allow being installed in the external memory.

The Alcatel OneTouch EVO 7 HD is extremely thin and practical, with a thickness of just 0.39". Even though the Alcatel OneTouch EVO 7 HD is only 7.76" long and 4.72" wide, it still manages to pack a 7 inches screen. It appears that Alcatel decided not to care so much about the weight in this 12.35 oz device.

The Alcatel OneTouch EVO 7 HD includes a nice 7-inches screen with a 800 x 1280 resolution, which makes it hard to distinguish the pixels taking part of the screen. This screen uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, and can detect multiple fingers at the same time.

This device features two cameras, a 3 megapixels back side camera and a 0.3 megapixels front camera.

The Alcatel OneTouch EVO 7 HD provides wi-fi connection (although it can't be shared with other devices around, as a mobile mobile hotspot). The Alcatel OneTouch EVO 7 HD doesn't use a SIM card, because it isn't a GSM enabled tablet.

The Alcatel OneTouch EVO 7 HD also features a couple useful features like Bluetooth (4.0) and GPS Geolocation, and Accelerometer.

The Alcatel OneTouch EVO 7 HD has a large 4160 mAh Li-Ion non-replaceable battery that can keep this tablet device running for several hours without having to charge it. An issue to consider is that this tablet's battery is not replaceable so you won't be able to replace it when it starts to have trouble holding its charge, while with such a great capacity you will probably discard this tablet device before it happens.

Alcatel is selling the Alcatel OneTouch EVO 7 HD for $ 179, which is not a really offer for comparing with other similar tablets. The Alcatel OneTouch EVO 7 HD is a great option for you if you want a tablet to play tons of games.
