Acer Iconia Tab A100 Review

See other variants reviews Score: 51.3 / 100

Acer Iconia Tab A100 is a fair quality tablet launched back in 2011, packed with a fast 1 GHz Dual-Core processor, a good size 7" capacitive display, a 5 megapixels back-facing camera and a 2 megapixels front camera.

Acer made the Acer Iconia Tab A100available only in 2 color options, black and blue. It appears that Acer didn't care about the weight at all, leaving it live with a weight of 16.58 oz. The Acer Iconia Tab A100 is a little bit thick for today's standards, with its 0.52 inches thickness. The Acer Iconia Tab A100 just has 7.68" long, but it manages to hold a 7 inches display.

Acer equipped this tablet with a powerful Dual-Core processing unit clocking at 1 GHz, included in a NVIDIA Tegra 2 chip with 1 GB RAM. The Acer Iconia Tab A100 has a good 16 GB internal storage and an SD memory card expansion slot, allowing you to install a couple hundred applications without any problem.

The Acer Iconia Tab A100 features two cameras, a 5 MP back side camera and a 2 megapixels front camera. This camera also has auto-focus and flash.

This device includes an average 600 x 1024 7" screen, making everything look quite nice. This screen uses TFT capacitive technology, and is multi-touch enabled.

This tablet comes with a good 1530 mAh Li-Ion non-removable battery providing this device with a not very long battery life. A big issue to consider is that this device's battery isn't replaceable so you can't buy a new battery when it begins to live shorter, making it necessary to change the whole portable tablet or hopefully take it to someone who can disassemble it and change the battery.

This device has wifi capability (but it can't be provided to other devices around, acting as a wireless router) and fast 3G data connection, using HSDPA, HSUPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. The Acer Iconia Tab A100 works with a SIM card for GSM connection.

The Acer Iconia Tab A100 also features some useful features such as Bluetooth (for communication with other portable tablets, computers and accessories) and GPS (Global Positioning System), and some sensors likeAccelerometer, Gyroscope and Compass.

Acer offers the Acer Iconia Tab A100 for $ 150, which is not a good offer for comparing with other similar tablets.
