Acer Iconia Tab A100 Review

16 GB Wi-Fi     See other variants reviews Score: 51.3 / 100

Acer Iconia Tab A100 is a decent quality tablet launched back in 2011, which counts with a good performance 1 GHz Dual-Core CPU, a pretty large 7 inches touch-screen, and 2 cameras, a 5 MP back side camera and a 2 MP front-facing camera. We will get a better understanding of this device's specs when we get into more details.

Acer sells the Acer Iconia Tab A100 in two colors: black and blue. This device is a compact tablet, given that it features a 7" screen and it has just 7.68" long and 4.61 inches wide. This tablet is a little bit thick for current standards, being as thick as 0.52". The Acer Iconia Tab A100 is quite heavy comparing to other tablets , weighting 16.58 oz.

Acer sells this device with a NVIDIA Tegra 2 chip, holding a fast 1 GHz Dual-Core processor with 1 GB of RAM memory. This device has a 16 GB quite large internal storage memory and an SD extension slot, which allows the user to install a couple hundred games and applications without running out of space.

This tablet is equipped with a good level 7 inches screen with a 600 x 1024 resolution, which makes all photos and movies look quite vivid. Its screen uses TFT capacitive technology, and can detect multiple fingers at the same time.

The Acer Iconia Tab A100 includes wifi connectivity (but it can't provide it to other devices around, acting as a modem) and fast 3G connection type, supported by HSDPA, HSUPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. The Acer Iconia Tab A100 uses a SIM card for GSM connection.

This tablet has two cameras, a 5 megapixels back facing camera and a 2 MP front facing camera. Additionally, the camera has flash and auto-focus.

The Acer Iconia Tab A100 also comes with a handful of nice features such as Bluetooth (2.1, EDR) and GPS (Global Positioning System), and a couple sensors likeAccelerometer, Gyroscope and Compass.

This tablet packs a mid sized 1530 mAh Li-Ion non-replaceable battery, which is not really enough for a portable tablet like this. A big issue to evaluate is that this tablet's battery isn't replaceable so you can't throw it away and buy a new one when it starts to get older, having to replace the whole tablet.

The Acer Iconia Tab A100 is very expensive considering it costs 150 dollars, while many similar tablets are sold for much less than that.
