ZTE Optik 2 is a not so powerful tablet, coming with a pretty large 7-inches multi-touch screen, a great Quad-Core processing unit ticking at 1200 megahertz, and two cameras, a 5 MP back camera and a 2 MP front facing camera. But it's time to get into much more detail.
ZTE decided to equip this device using a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8625Q system chip, packing an extremely fast Quad-Core CPU ticking at 1.2 gigahertz with only 1 GB of RAM memory which is a bit poor for a tablet of this quality. Graphic intensive games and apps usually consume lots of processor time, so the ZTE Optik 2 has an additional 245 MHz Adreno 203 GPU to help the CPU with those tasks. The ZTE Optik 2 has anice 8 GB internal storage memory and a slot for SD memory cards, enough to install hundreds of applications without running out of space.
This device's thickness of 0.45 inches is quite far from current standards, but it still feels comfortable in the user's hand. ZTE sells this tablet in two colors, black and gray. This device doesn't feel very lightweight comparing to other portable tablets , weighting 13.31 oz.
The ZTE Optik 2 features two cameras, a 5 MP back-facing camera and a 2 MP front-facing camera. This camera also features auto-focus and flash.
ZTE designed this tablet with an average 7" screen, and a resolution of 1024 x 600 , giving this tablet device a good image quality. Its screen uses TFT capacitive technology, and can detect multiple fingers at the same time.
The ZTE Optik 2 provides Wi-Fi capability (which can be provided to other devices acting as a wireless modem) and 3G data connection, supported by EV-DO B technologies. This tablet doesn't have a SIM card, because it doesn't work with GSM services.
The ZTE Optik 2 also comes with a couple of nice characteristics such as Bluetooth (4.0) and GPS, and some sensors likeLight Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.
This tablet has a 4000 mAh high capacity Li-Polymer replaceable battery, enough to provide the ZTE Optik 2 with an impressive battery duration.
ZTE offers the ZTE Optik 2 for $ 249, which is a high price for this kind of device.
