BLU Studio 5.3S Review

BLU Studio 5.3S is a bit outdated Android phone, which features a high speed Quad-Core processing unit speeding at 1.2 GHz, a big 5.3 inches capacitive screen, and 2 cameras, an 8 MP back-facing camera and a 2 mega-pixels front facing camera. This cellphone doesn't feel very lightweight for a phone this size, weighting 6.7 ounces. Though the BLU Studio 5.3S only has 6.05" long, it still manages to hold a 5.3" screen. Being just 0.36" thick,the BLU Studio 5.3S is incredibly slim and comfortable. BLU sells the BLU Studio 5.3S in two different colors: black and white.

The BLU Studio 5.3S includes a very good 5.3-inches display with a 960 x 540 resolution, which makes it hard to distinguish the pixels forming the display. This display uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, and can detect multiple fingers at the same time.

BLU decided to build this phone with a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip, including a high-tech 1.2 gigahertz Quad-Core processor and only 1 GB RAM memory which is a little disappointing for a phone this powerful. Graphic calculations usually eats lots of processing power, so this device counts with an Adreno 203 GPU speeding at 245 MHz to take care of them, leaving the processor free for other tasks. This cellphone counts with a 4 GB internal memory, a common amount that should be fine for the majority of users considering it also has a slot for SD memory cards to store photos and videos and even some games and apps that allow being installed in the external memory.

This device is equipped with two cameras, an 8 megapixels back facing camera and a 2 megapixels front camera. It also shoots videos in 1280x720 (HD) at 30 frames per second. This camera also features some nice characteristics like flash, face detection shooting, auto-focus and geo tagging.

The BLU Studio 5.3S uses a 2800 mAh huge replaceable battery, enough to provide the BLU Studio 5.3S with an amazing battery life.

The BLU Studio 5.3S features Wi-Fi connection (and it can be provided to other devices acting as a mobile hotspot) and fast 3G connectivity, supported by HSDPA, HSUPA and EDGE technologies. This cellphone works with a SIM card for GSM connection.

This cellphone also includes a few useful characteristics like Bluetooth (for communication with other bluetooth cellphones and accessories) and GPS Localization, and multiple sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.

This phone is very expensive considering it costs $ 155, while some similar phones cost a lot less than that.
