Dell Streak is a decently made cellphone released back in 2010, which counts with a quite big 5" capacitive screen, a 1000 MHz processing unit, and 2 cameras, a 5 MP back facing camera and a 0.3 MP front-facing camera. But it's time to get into a bit more detail.
Dell decided to power this device using a Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 QSD8250 system chip, packing a powerful 1 GHz processor and 512 MB of RAM. Graphic rendering often eats lots of processing time, so this phone also counts with an Adreno 200 GPU running at 128 megahertz to take care of them, leaving the CPU free for other tasks.
This phone is just available in black color. This cellphone's thickness , 0.4 inches, is a bit far from nowadays standards, but it still feels right in the user's hand. Dell didn't seem to put much effort to reduce weight in this 7.76 oz cellphone.
Dell packed this cellphone with a good level 5" display, and a resolution of 800 x 480 , which makes all images and movies look good. This display uses TFT capacitive technology, and allows multi-touch gestures.
This phone is equipped with two cameras, a 5 mega-pixels back facing camera and a 0.3 megapixels front facing camera. It is also able to capture 1280x720 HD videos at 18 frames per second, and slow-motion videos up to 640x480 (VGA) up to 20 fps. The camera also features some nice characteristics: auto-focus, flash and geo tagging.
This device counts with Wi-Fi connection (although it can't be shared with other devices around, acting as a mobile hotspot) and fast 3G connectivity, supported by HSDPA, HSUPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. This phone uses a SIM card for GSM connection.
The Dell Streak also features a handful of interesting features like Bluetooth (2.0, EDR) and GPS Geolocation, and multiple sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.
This phone has a good 1530 mAh Li-Ion removable battery, which is quite poor for a thirsty device like this. This cellphone has an aproximate 9 hours talk time and a 400 hs stand by time according to Dell.
Dell is offering this phone for 1520 dollars, which is a high price for comparing with other similar phones.
