GIGABYTE GSmart Sierra S1 Review

GIGABYTE GSmart Sierra S1 is a mid-end Android phone, counting with a great Quad-Core processing unit running at 1500 megahertz, a good size 5" touch-screen, and two cameras, a 13 megapixels back facing camera and a 2 MP front facing camera.

This phone comes with an extremely powerful 1.5 gigahertz Quad-Core processing unit, included in the MediaTek MT6589T system chip and only 1 GB RAM which is a little bit disappointing for a device of this quality. To collaborate with graphic calculations, this device also counts with a 384 MHz PowerVR SGX544 GPU.

This phone feels a bit heavy comparing to other phones , weighting 5.93 oz. Gigabyte made the GIGABYTE GSmart Sierra S1 in two different color options, black and white. Being just 0.35" thick,this phone is slim and stilized. This cellphone is a compact phone, taking into consideration it presents a 5 inches screen and it has just 5.73" long.

Gigabyte equipped the GIGABYTE GSmart Sierra S1 with a very good 5 inches screen, and a 1280 x 720 (HD) resolution, which makes everything look great. This screen uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, and is multi-touch enabled.

The GIGABYTE GSmart Sierra S1 features wi-fi connection (although it can't provide it to other devices as a mobile mobile hotspot), 4G HSPA+ internet connection, that is not as fast as LTE-A or LTE 4G networks and the fastest 3G connectivity, using HSDPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. The GIGABYTE GSmart Sierra S1 comes with 2 SIM cards so it can to work with 2 different phone lines and even different carriers at the same time.

The GIGABYTE GSmart Sierra S1 has two cameras, a 13 mega-pixels back facing camera and a 2 megapixels front side camera. In addition, this device's camera also has a few interesting features: auto-focus, flash, geo tagging and face detection shooting.

The GIGABYTE GSmart Sierra S1 has a 2000 mAh medium Li-Ion battery that provides this cellphone a quite short battery lifecompared to other phones. Gigabyte reports a 4.5 hours talk time and a 600 hours stand by time for this device.

This device also comes with a couple of nice features like Bluetooth (for communication with other phones, computers and accessories), GPS (Global Positioning System) and FM Radio, and lots of sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.

Gigabyte sells the GIGABYTE GSmart Sierra S1 for 249 dollars, which is not a good offer for a cellphone this level.
