Samsung Droid Charge Review

Samsung Droid Charge is a mid-level Android cellphone launched back in 2011, which features a fast 1000 MHz processing unit, a 4.3-inches display, and two cameras, an 8 MP back camera and a 1.3 MP front facing camera.

Samsung decided to power this cellphone with a Samsung Exynos 3 system chip, which holds a powerful CPU clocking at 1 gigahertz. Graphic intensive apps often consume a lot of processor cycles, so it also uses a 200 MHz PowerVR SGX540 graphic processing unit to unload the CPU. This cellphone comes with areasonable 2 GB internal storage, which is adequate for the average user considering it also has an external memory card slot to store pictures and videos.

This phone is thin and practical, but it's not close to being one of the thinnest cellphones currently available, with a thickness of 0.46 inches. This time, it seems like Samsung decided not to care much about the weight in this 5.04 oz phone.

Samsung designed this device with a good looking 4.3" screen, and a resolution of 800 x 480 , which makes all pictures and movies look colorful and brightful. Its screen uses Super AMOLED Plus capacitive technology, and can detect multi touch gestures.

The Samsung Droid Charge features two cameras, an 8 MP back-facing camera and a 1.3 mega-pixels front side camera. This cellphone can also shoot videos up to 1280x720 (HD) at 30 frames per second. Additionally, the camera counts with a few nice features like auto-focus, flash and geo tagging.

This phone counts with a medium capacity 1600 mAh Li-Ion replaceable battery that can keep it running for some hours, although you will find yourself looking for a place to charge it after some moderate to heavy usage. According to Samsung, the Samsung Droid Charge has a reported 280 hs stand by time and a 11 hs talk time.

This phone offers Wi-Fi connectivity (and it can be provided to other devices acting as a mobile hotspot), LTE (4G) high speed internet connection and 3G internet connection, over EV-DO A technologies. This cellphone doesn't use a SIM card, because it isn't a GSM phone and it works in CDMA networks.

This device also includes a couple nice characteristics such as Bluetooth (3.0) and GPS Localization, and plenty of sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.

This cellphone is not cheap at all considering it is priced 90 dollars, while many similar phones are being sold much cheaper than that. This cellphone is the right choice for you if you will use it as a social cellphone.
