HTC Radar Review

HTC Radar is a pretty good Windows Phone 7.5 Mango phone released in 2011, featuring a 3.8 inches capacitive touch-screen, a powerful CPU ticking at 1000 megahertz, and two cameras, a 5 mega-pixels back camera and a 0.3 MP front facing camera. But let's get into much more detail.

This device is a bit heavy comparing to other devices , with a weight of 4.83 oz. The HTC Radar is very slim and practical, but it's not so slim as many other cellphones currently available, with a thickness of 0.43".

This phone includes a nice 800 x 480 3.8-inches screen, giving this cellphone a good level image quality. This screen uses S-LCD capacitive technology, and is multi-touch enabled.

This phone is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon S2 MSM8255 chip, packing a fast CPU clocking at 1 GHz with 512 MB RAM memory. Graphic rendering often eats a lot of processor cycles, so it uses an extra Adreno 205 GPU working at 245 megahertz to improve overall performance. A good point of this cellphone is its 8 GB quite big internal memory and even though it doesn't include a slot for an external memory card, it is enough to store hundreds of applications and games, but it might not be suitable if you are fan of the largest games currently available.

The HTC Radar is equipped with two cameras, a 5 megapixels back-facing camera and a 0.3 mega-pixels front side camera. This phone can also shoot HD 1280x720 videos. In addition, the camera features a couple of nice characteristics like flash, auto-focus and geo tagging.

This cellphone uses a good 1520 mAh Li-Ion removable battery providing this cellphone with a poor battery duration. HTC reports a talk time of 10 hours and a stand by time of 480 hs for this cellphone.

This cellphone has Wi-Fi capability (although it can't share it with other devices around, acting as a mobile hotspot) and the fastest 3G data connection, over HSDPA, HSUPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. The HTC Radar works with a SIM card for GSM connection.

This cellphone also features a few interesting features such as Bluetooth (2.1, EDR) and GPS (Global Positioning System), and some sensors likeLight Sensor, Proximity Sensor and Accelerometer.

The HTC Radar is priced about $ 199, high for this kind of cellphone. If you want it mainly for social networks, this phone is a very good choice for you.
