Samsung Epic 4G Review

Samsung Epic 4G is a mid level cellphone released some years ago, in 2010, coming with a good performance 1000 MHz CPU, a medium sized 4" display, and two cameras, a 5 megapixels back camera and a 0.3 mega-pixels front-facing camera.

This cellphone isn't very light comparing to other devices , weighting 5.46 ounces. This phone is a little bit thick compared to today's phones, being as thick as 0.56 inches.

Samsung sells this device with a Samsung Exynos 3 system chip, including a great performance 1000 megahertz CPU with 512 MB of RAM. To handle graphic calculations, it also has a PowerVR SGX540 GPU ticking at 200 MHz.

The Samsung Epic 4G is equipped with a nice 800 x 480 4-inches display, providing this phone with a very good graphical experience. Its display uses Super AMOLED capacitive technology, and can detect multi touch gestures.

This device has two cameras, a 5 MP back camera and a 0.3 megapixels front camera. It is also able to capture videos in HD 1280x720 at 30 fps. The camera also has flash and auto-focus.

This cellphone counts with a medium 1500 mAh Li-Ion replaceable battery, which is not really enough for a consuming device like this. This cellphone has an estimated stand by time of 300 hs and a talk time of 6 hs according to Samsung.

This device features Wi-Fi connection (which it can share with other devices acting as a mobile hotspot) and 3G connectivity, using EV-DO A technologies. This phone doesn't use a SIM card, because it's not a GSM enabled cellphone and it can work with CDMA networks.

The Samsung Epic 4G also includes a couple of nice characteristics such as Bluetooth and GPS (Global Positioning System), and multiple sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.

This phone costs around $ 200, which is very expensive for this type of device. If you want this cellphone mainly for social networks, you will probably love this device.
