HTC Amaze 4G Review

HTC Amaze 4G is a mid level Android phone launched many years ago, featuring a 4.3 inches display, an extremely powerful 1500 megahertz Dual-Core processor, an 8 MP back-facing camera and a 2 MP front camera.

The HTC Amaze 4G feels a bit heavyweight for a cellphone this size, with a weight of 6.1 oz. HTC offers this cellphone in two color options: black and white. This cellphone is very slim and comfortable, but it's not close to being one of the thinnest cellphones in the market, with a thickness of 0.46".

HTC decided to power this device with an extremely powerful 1.5 GHz Dual-Core processor, bundled in the Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 APQ8060 system chip with only 1 GB of RAM which is a little bit low for such a good device. Graphic calculations usually consume a lot of CPU time, so this phone counts with an additional 266 MHz Adreno 220 GPU to help handle those graphic tasks. This phone comes with a good 16 GB internal memory and a slot for external memory cards, which allows the user to store hundreds of apps and games without worrying about space.

This phone includes a good looking 4.3" display with a 960 x 540 resolution, which makes all photos and movies look very good. Its display uses S-LCD capacitive technology, and can detect multi touch gestures.

The HTC Amaze 4G is equipped with two cameras, an 8 megapixels back-facing camera and a 2 MP front-facing camera. This cellphone also shoots Full HD 1920x1080 videos at 30 fps. Additionally, the camera includes a couple of good characteristics like flash, geo tagging and auto-focus.

The HTC Amaze 4G has wi-fi connectivity (although it can't provide it to other devices acting as a wireless modem or router), 4G HSPA+ connectivity, which is not so fast as LTE or LTE-A 4G networks and the fastest 3G connection type, using HSDPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. This phone uses a SIM card to use GSM services.

This cellphone also comes with some nice features as Near Field Communication (NFC), Bluetooth and GPS Localization, and lots of sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.

This cellphone counts with a medium capacity 1730 mAh Li-Ion replaceable battery that can keep this phone running for some hours, although you will need to charge it even after moderate use. HTC afirms this phone has a 6 hs talk time and a 264 hs stand by time.

This phone may be a little expensive considering it is sold for 100 dollars, and other similar phones cost less than that. If you will use it mainly for social networks or need a phone to play games, you will probably be very pleased with this cellphone.
