Motorola BACKFLIP is a decent quality Android device launched back in 2010, packed with a processing unit speeding at 528 MHz, a little 3.1" screen and a 5 MP back-facing camera. But let's get into some more detail.
This time, Motorola totally forgot about weight optimization, putting together a 4.69 oz cellphone. The Motorola BACKFLIP is a little bit thick for current standards, being as thick as 0.6 inches. This phone is 4.25 inches long and 2.09" wide, it just packs a much smaller 3.1 inches screen.
The Motorola BACKFLIP has a good 3.1 inches screen with a 480 x 320 resolution, making everything look good. This screen uses TFT capacitive technology, but it doesn't allow multi-touch gestures.
Motorola decided to power this cellphone with a good 528 megahertz processor, packed into the Qualcomm MSM7200A chip with just 256 MB of RAM. The Motorola BACKFLIP counts with a poor 262,14 MB internal storage, which might be enough for basic users knowing that it also has an SD extension slot to store songs, pictures and videos.
This cellphone only features a 5 MP back camera. The Motorola BACKFLIP also shoots videos in QVGA 320x240 at 25 frames per second. To complete the camera, it also counts with a few good features like auto-focus, flash and geo tagging.
This phone has Wi-Fi connectivity (but it can't provide it to other devices around, acting as a wireless modem) and 3G fast connection type, using HSDPA, HSUPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. This phone uses a SIM card for GSM networks.
The Motorola BACKFLIP also comes with a couple of nice features such as Bluetooth (enables communication with other cellphones, computers and accessories) and GPS Geolocation, and some sensors likeAccelerometer and Compass.
This cellphone features a medium 1400 mAh Li-Ion battery, which is quite low for a cellphone like this. Motorola says this cellphone has a 315 hours stand by time and a 5.8 hs talk time.
Motorola is offering this device for 199 dollars, which is not cheap for comparing with other similar cellphones.
