NEC Terrain Review

NEC Terrain is an interesting cellphone, having a great Dual-Core processing unit speeding at 1500 megahertz, a 3.1 inches touch-screen, and 2 cameras, a 5 mega-pixels back-facing camera and a 0.3 mega-pixels front-facing camera. But it's time to get into much more details.

This phone comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro Plus MSM8960 chip, which holds a high performance Dual-Core processor running at 1500 MHz with only 1 GB RAM memory which is a bit low comparing with its great CPU. Graphic intensive games and apps usually consume lots of processing power, so it uses an Adreno 225 graphic processing unit running at 400 megahertz to help with that calculations. This phone has an 8 GB quite large internal storage and a slot for an SD memory card, allowing the user to store a couple hundred games and applications without running out of space.

This phone is quite thick for today's standards, with a thickness of 0.57". Although this phone has 5.02 inches long, it only comes with a way smaller 3.1" display. The NEC Terrain is a bit heavyweight comparing with today standards, weighting 6.06 ounces. NEC only offers this cellphone in black color.

NEC packed this phone with a very good 3.1-inches display, and a resolution of 640 x 480 (VGA), which makes it hard to see the pixels taking part of the display.

This cellphone provides wi-fi capability (and it can share it with other devices as a mobile hotspot), LTE (4G) fast connectivity and 3G connection type, over UMTS and EDGE technologies. This phone works with a SIM card to connect to GSM networks.

This cellphone is equipped with two cameras, a 5 mega-pixels back facing camera and a 0.3 MP front camera. It is capable of shooting 1280x720 HD videos. In addition, the camera has auto-focus and flash.

This phone counts with a 1900 mAh mid capacity Li-Ion replaceable battery, which is not really enough for a cellphone like this. This cellphone has an estimated stand by time of 348 hs and a talk time of 10 hs.

This phone also includes plenty of useful features as Near Field Communication (NFC), Bluetooth (provides communication with other bluetooth devices, computers, and accessories), GPS (Global Positioning System) and Radio, and multiple sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.

The NEC Terrain costs about $ 155, which is not a really offer for comparing with similar devices. This phone is the right one for you if you are looking for a social cellphone.
