Samsung Galaxy Amp Review

Samsung Galaxy Amp is a mid-level device, having a 4-inches capacitive screen, a powerful 1000 MHz Dual-Core processing unit, a 5 MP back facing camera and a 0.3 mega-pixels front facing camera.

The Amp is powered by a powerful Dual-Core CPU running at 1000 MHz, included in a ST-Ericsson U8420 chip and 1 GB RAM. This phone counts with a medium 4 GB internal storage memory, which is enough for the vast majority of users considering that it also has a slot for an SD memory card to store photos and videos.

Samsung made this cellphoneavailable only in color black. This device is thin, even though it's not close to being one of the thinnest cellphones on sale, with a thickness of 0.43". Samsung didn't seem to put much effort to reduce weight in this 4.41 oz phone.

This phone has a good looking 4 inches display with a 800 x 480 resolution, providing this device with a good graphic quality. This display uses TFT capacitive technology, and is multi-touch enabled.

This phone has wifi connectivity (but it can't be provided to other devices around, acting as a mobile hotspot) and the fastest 3G internet connection, using HSDPA, HSUPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. The Amp works with a SIM card for GSM networks.

This cellphone features two cameras, a 5 megapixels back side camera and a 0.3 megapixels front facing camera. This cellphone can also film 1280x720 HD videos. To complete the camera, it also counts with a couple of useful features: auto-focus, flash, smile detection shooting, fast burst mode and geo tagging.

The Amp also comes with a handful of nice features such as Bluetooth (provides communication with other devices, computers, and accessories) and GPS (Global Positioning System), and plenty of sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.

This phone packs a 1500 mAh medium Li-Ion battery that can keep it running for some hours, although you will probably find yourself looking for a place to charge it after some moderate to heavy usage. Samsung reports a 450 hs stand by time and a 4.5 hours talk time for this device.

The Samsung Galaxy Amp may not be so convinient considering it is sold for 85 dollars, and other similar phones can be found for less money. No matter if you want it for gaming or want it mostly for social networks, this cellphone is definitely the right one for you.
