Samsung Galaxy Y is a not so powerful Android cellphone released some years ago, in 2011, featuring a 3 MP back side camera, a 3.1-inches capacitive display and a great performance 832 MHz CPU. That's all? No, it's only the tip of the iceberg.
This phone is 4.32 inches long and 2.36 inches wide, but it's only able to hold a way smaller 3.1" screen. This cellphone isn't very light comparing to other cellphones , weighting 3.84 oz.
Samsung equipped this cellphone with a poor 3.1 inches display, and a 320 x 240 (QVGA) resolution, making everything look worse than it really is. This display uses TFT capacitive technology, and can detect multi touch gestures.
Samsung decided to design this device using a good performance 832 megahertz CPU. Graphic intensive games and applications usually eats lots of processor cycles, so it also has an ARM Mali-400 MP1 GPU clocking at 320 MHz to unload the processor.
The Y has WiFi connection (but it can't be provided to other devices around, as a mobile mobile hotspot) and 3G fast internet connection, over HSDPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. This cellphone uses two SIM cards to be able to to use two different phone numbers in the same phone.
The Y is equipped with only a 3 mega-pixels back-facing camera. This phone also shoots videos in QVGA 320x240 at 24 fps.
This cellphone also includes a few nice characteristics such as Bluetooth and GPS, and a couple sensors likeProximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.
This phone has a 1300 mAh medium sized Li-Ion battery that provides this cellphone a not very long battery duration comparing with other similar phones. Samsung reports a 630 hours stand by time and a 17.5 hours talk time for this cellphone.
The Y is really expensive considering it is sold for 285 dollars, and other similar phones cost much less than that.
