Samsung OMNIA HD is a decent quality phone launched in 2009, equipped with a 3.7 inches screen, a fast processing unit clocking at 600 megahertz and an 8 MP back-facing camera.
This phone ships with a TI OMAP3430 system chip, including a quite powerful processing unit running at 600 MHz. Graphic calculations generally consume a lot of processor time, so it also has an extra PowerVR SGX530 graphics processing unit speeding at 200 MHz to unload the CPU. A nice advantage of this phone is its big 16 GB internal memory and a slot for SD memory cards, which allows the user to store a couple hundred apps and games without any trouble.
This phone is a little thick for today's standards, being as thick as 0.51 inches. This phone is quite heavy comparing to other phones , weighting 5.08 ounces.
This cellphone only has an 8 MP back side camera. This phone also shoots videos in 1280x720 (HD) at 24 frames per second. The camera also includes multiple amazing features: flash, fast burst mode, auto-focus, digital image stabilization, smile detection shooting, face detection shooting and geo tagging.
This cellphone is equipped with a nice 640 x 360 3.7 inches display, providing this device with an average graphic quality. Its display uses AMOLED capacitive technology, but it's not multi-touch.
This phone provides WiFi capability (although it can't be provided to other devices around, acting as a mobile hotspot). This phone works with a SIM card for GSM carriers.
The Samsung OMNIA HD also features a couple useful characteristics like Bluetooth (for communication with other bluetooth devices, computers, and accessories) and GPS Navigation, and a couple sensors likeProximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.
This device comes with a mid capacity 1500 mAh Li-Ion replaceable battery that can keep it running for many hours, although you will probably find yourself looking for a place to charge it even after moderate use. According to Samsung, this cellphone has an estimated talk time of 13.5 hs and a stand by time of 600 hours.
Samsung is selling the Samsung OMNIA HD for $ 369, which is a very high price for a device this level.
