HTC ThunderBolt Review

HTC ThunderBolt is a mid-end Android cellphone launched some years ago, in 2011, provisioned with a great performance processing unit speeding at 1 gigahertz, a 4.3-inches multi touch screen, and two cameras, an 8 megapixels back camera and a 1.3 mega-pixels front facing camera.

Although this phone only has 4.75 inches long, it is still able to fit a a 4.3 inches screen. The HTC ThunderBolt is a bit thick compared to nowadays cellphones, being as thick as 0.56 inches. HTC didn't put much effort to reduce weight in this 6.23 ounces cellphone, far heavier than other similar devices.

HTC decided to build this cellphone with a Qualcomm Snapdragon S2 MSM8655 system chip, packing a powerful 1000 MHz CPU with 768 MB of RAM memory. Graphic calculations generally uses lots of CPU time, so the HTC ThunderBolt counts with an extra Adreno 205 graphics processing unit speeding at 245 megahertz to take some work out of the CPU. This cellphone counts with anice 8 GB internal storage memory and an SD card slot, which allows you to store hundreds of applications without any problem.

The HTC ThunderBolt is equipped with a interesting 4.3 inches display with a 800 x 480 resolution, providing this cellphone with a good image quality. Its display uses TFT capacitive technology, and is multi-touch enabled.

The HTC ThunderBolt offers Wi-Fi connection (which can be shared with other devices around, acting as a wireless router or modem), LTE 4G high speed connectivity and 3G connectivity, supported by EV-DO A technologies. The HTC ThunderBolt doesn't have a SIM card, because it's not a GSM enabled device and it works in CDMA networks.

This device features two cameras, an 8 mega-pixels back-facing camera and a 1.3 megapixels front facing camera. It can also film 1280x720 HD videos. To complete the camera, it also has some good characteristics like flash, auto-focus, geo tagging and face detection shooting.

This cellphone features a mid capacity 1400 mAh Li-Ion removable battery that can keep it running for many hours, although you will need to charge it after some moderate to heavy usage. HTC claims this cellphone has a 330 hs stand by time and a 6.3 hs talk time.

This cellphone also includes a handful of useful characteristics like Bluetooth (provides communication with other bluetooth cellphones, computers and accessories), GPS (Global Positioning System) and Radio, and plenty of sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.
